Is it right for porn sites to continue to use a deceased actress's image to promote their site

http://brat-princess2.tumblr.com/post/158812293536/too-big-to-swallow-whole-she-will-have-to-chew

I recently saw this blog post by BP promoting their site featuring Alexis Grace. For those of you who don't know, she passed away last year.

Do you think it's right for them (or any porn site/producer) to use images of deceased actresses like this?
I'm sure they legally can do so, but the question is: Is it right for them to do so?
For all the OCSMs out there, how would you feel about this?

To be clear, I'm NOT suggesting they pull videos/shoots featuring such deceased actresses. They've spent good money on producing them and it's their right to continue selling them.

But actively using their image to promote their site like this feels wrong.

How is this different from promoting anything or selling merchandise of deceased actors or musicians?

Exactly i don't see any problem, She made this stuff for entertaining us, the real insult would be to do like she has never existed.
By fapping on her materials you keep her memory alive.

As for Regina post Robin Williams for exemple was an amazing actor he made laugh a lot of people and making dreams a lot of kids, so you won't let your kids watch Mrs. Doobtfire because he's dead?
I don't think so, is the same thing with pornstars.

In a side note: I was a huge fan of Chyna and i still fap on her videos time to time.

Famous people or pornstars can die, but their memory will live forever through us.

I think a big difference is 1) legal consent and 2) The manner they promote it, i.e. it is as if the actress is still alive and actively supporting the site.

Going by your actor example, do you remember the superbowl XXXI ad with Fred Astaire dancing with a Dirt Devil vacuum?
That one even had the consent of his widow, but his daughter and his millions of fans were so disgusted the backlash forced Dirt Devil to pull the ad and their sales suffered.

For these porn sites, I doubt they are getting consent from their estate to use their images (most of the recently deceased stars were single when they passed).
And for this particular post it looks like they took a previous pic and photoshopped it for the blog post.
I'm a little concerned with this site (BP) because they had another one of their flagship stars also recently pass, and I doubt that will stop them from doing the same.

Like I said in my original post, this isn't about continuing to sell products of deceased stars. No one has issues with record/movie companies selling movies with deceased stars, that would simply be ridiculous.
The issue is continuing to use their image to create new ads/posts to promote the site/product.

i like Lorissa McComas so much and of course don;t want to see ads with her pics but what we can do..it's sad but money does not smell..

Do they HAVE the Right?................YES

Funny you brought this up............Naughty America just Remastered an older scene. With Billy Glide in it. He passed away within the last 6-12 months so not sure why they did this.

I could - and did - Fap to Hunter Bryce stuff but can't do it now that she is dead. The fantasy of being able to have sex with her is gone and thus so is my desire to Fap to her stuff

Billy Glide died on May 24, 2014. Almost three years ago. He worked with many ladies ... the main one being, Nikita Von James (who was romantically involved with him for a few years). From the OCSM [nobabe]Lisa Sparxxx[/nobabe], Puma Swede, Nikki Benz, Carmella Bing, Mason Storm, Mason Moore, Angelina Valentine, Alanah Rae, Shyla Stylez, Audrey Bitoni, etc, etc. The list is endless.

It's unfortunate that his "so-called" friend Alana Evans lied to everyone when she said that he died of a rattlesnake bite when the truth was a drug overdose.

I never knew it but Billy and I had a mutual friend - and he told me it was drugs

Several years ago there was a story about a guy who continued running his wife's very popular amateur site after she died. Fans were not made aware that she was dead. And he had his sister-in-law (her sister) answering fan emails, as if she was the wife. That was pretty creepy (and fraudulent, IMO) on both their parts. But in the case of porn stars, where people are fully aware that the actor or actress is dead, I don't see it as right or wrong.... it just is. To each his own. :dunno:

I looked at an old Erica Boyer scene a few months ago and I thought more about what a frenzied, hot performer she was than anything else. I guess if I knew these people personally, I might feel differently.

But let's ponder the question while listening to Blondie (she's still alive... I think :D)

This is the kind of thing I am talking about. These sites are putting up new blog posts, ads etc featuring these deceased actresses that promote the site. They don't go as far as impersonating them, but seeing them on ads as well as "new" videos being released featuring them doesn't help.

The problem with pornstars is that their deaths aren't exactly highly publicized; I mean when was the last time that pornstar's death (that wasn't a mainstream movie actor) made the news? Chyna might be the closest, but she was known more more for her TV/wrestling than porn. It's also hard for pornstars since they exclusively use their stage name so you can't exactly verify any death rumors since no official reports would use a pseudonym.

shit, that wasn't naughtyjulie.com was it? I noticed she hasn't updated her site in a long while. I don't have a set expressed policy against it, but I can't bring myself to it once I know. And by it, I mean rubbing one out to someone who's deceased.

I can't remember the name. She wasn't on Dreamnet. But their forum is where I heard the story, probably seven or eight years ago. If you see one of the Dream girls around, they might remember (Dawn Marie, Elli Nude, Rebecca Dream).
