Is it odd or rare for a penis to curve down?

I wonder this for two reasons:

1. Usually, the guys you see in porn either have a straight penis, or it curves up.

2. My girlfriend was wondering why it curved down.

Now, I guess it's because I wear boxer briefs, but is there a genetic explination for it?

OP: Some degree of curvature is considered "normal" (and yes, it's congenital i.e. you're born with it). However, to be on the safe side; please get yourself checked out for Peyroine's Disease (ask a urologist - most general practitioners don't understand the disease too well).

To be honest I have never heard of or seen a penis that curves down when erect but Its probably Genetics.. Every guys is diff but the norm is they curve up.. As long as you have a girl that Loves you the way you are then no reason to worry about it

From what I understand, curvatures up or down are usually caused by a slight difference in the ligaments that attach the penis to the pubic bone, while curvatures left or right are caused by slight differences in the capacity of the two pockets of spongy tissue that fill up with blood to create an erection. Either way, a curvature of up to 30% is considered quite normal.

And as far as why most male pornstars are either straight or curved up, I would guess that has to do with the positions that look good on camera. I know I have a pretty good bend to the left and it can take some work to hit the hole in some positions.
