Irs?

We're getting sleepy on here, huh?
I didn't see a post on the IRS mess. I, for one, think people should be going to jail over this.

What about the press trying to make something out of Christie getting funding for road repairs being on the NY Time above the fold while it was something -l like page 26 coverage of the IRS ******* its power and targeting people and groups.

An agency that basically has the power to ruin people's lives and is supposed to be serving the people using their power to target people and groups is evil. It is the definition of corruption. Covering this evil up is evil. It is a slow burn story, but politics aside, I don't understand any American who is apathetic towards it or tried to write it off as bureaucracy. Regardless of the groups they attacked, this is the very stuff that is worthy of dumping tea into Boston harbor (I'd like to take back the term "Boston Tea Party" and the Gadsden Flag from a certain group of people, so I'd never like to be confused as being a member of them.)

I'm not pointing fingers at the White House. I think to do so, as it is, is to allow the problem to become political and miss the point. It is corruption from within the IRS. This is not an agency I would allow any leniency in managing or holding accountable.

(Yes, this is clearly troll behavior on my part.)

I am a little surprised that you posted a CBS link, since the body of your post has things so wrong like only a person who gets their news from Fox news.

1 - The law dates back over a century and became "501(c)(4)" and require exclusively for the promotion of "social welfare"

2 - In 1959 an Eisenhower appointed lawyer rewrote the IRS tax code changing exclusively to "primarily", but not actually changing the law.

3 - A couple of years ago a middle level IRS employee (who says she is a registered Republican) took it upon herself to look into 501c4 groups with political sounding names. They searched a group of political sounding names (both liberal and conservative), to see if their activities were at least 51% charitable etc. There were more conservative groups looked at because there were more conservative groups. No group was harassed, intimidated, etc. just examined. Of all the groups looked at only one liberal group had their 501c4 status rejected, when in fact ALL of them should have been rejected following the LAW not the tax CODE.
4 - Darrell Issa knows all this but won't back down because they are using their bullshit to raise contributions.

Mr. Daystar

In a bell tower, watching you through cross hairs.
Personally, I think the IRS is WAY out of hand, and if they weren't protected by our government, and giving them a vig for the protection...they would be indicted under the RICO act, for extortion. Whether or not they are wrong in this case, is irrelevant to me...but I feel very strongly that they should be taken to task over their obvious ***** of power, and intimidation of people that work hard, but fall into financial difficulties.

The IRS needs to be eliminated. Lois Lerner needs to be prosecuted. Dear Leader needs to be held accountable, too.

Computers crash and select emails are conveniently lost forever (or are they?). Hey, stuff happens. What difference does it make?

Must have been something in the phrasing that set off a prejudice you have. I didn't misstate anything factual since I put very little factual in there (other than my disdain for the Tea Party, Not pointing fingers at the White House, and the NY Times coverage).
Funny too that your prejudice is showing because what prompted this was coverage on MSNBC. I blatantly stole this from The Morning Joe Show.

Although I did think of FOX News yesterday. While watching MSNBC I saw Al Sharpton state pretty clearly (with graphics) that the Republican Party is what the the Confederate States of America evolved to. I thought at that point Al Sharpton is about as useful to humanity as Glen Beck.

So, yeah, I'm 100% in agreement with MSNBC that the Christie coverage was inflated and the IRS coverage showed a liberal bias.

Congressman Steve Stockman Thursday filed a resolution directing the House Sergeant-At-Arms to arrest former IRS Director of the Exempt Organizations Unit Lois Lerner on charges of contempt of Congress.

“Asking the Justice Department to prosecute Lois Lerner for admittedly ******* activity is a joke. The Obama administration will not prosecute the Obama administration. How much longer will the House allow itself to be mocked? It is up to this House to uphold the rule of law and hold accountable those who illegally targeted American citizens for simply having different ideas than the President,” said Stockman.

“Democrats have openly stated the House has the powers to arrest those in contempt of Congress and imprison them in the Capitol. I don’t want to go as far as Democrats in exercising the House’s powers to arrest. Ms. Lerner will be held in the D.C. jail,” said Stockman.

Under the resolution Lerner would be held in the D.C. jail and would have full legal rights and access to an attorney.

'Bout fucking time someone nutted up.

And boom goes the dynamite.
