Police in Iran have arrested a group of mostly female actors who were making pornographic films, a crime that carries the death penalty under the country's Islamic laws, local media reported today.

The arrests were made at a house in a middle-class area in the east of Tehran, the pro-reformist website Fararu said.

The website did not specify how many actors had been detained, but said most were "beautiful young women".

Citing an "informed source" in the intelligence deputy's office of the Iranian law enforcement agency, it said the actors had produced several amateur films which had then been sold on the black market.

The directors of the films have also been arrested.

While an underground porn market has flourished in Iran in recent years, it is rare for the police to acknowledge it with high profile arrests.

* Adultery is punishable by death. “Adultery” defined as any sex outside of wedlock.

* Women’s rights activists sometimes jailed, sometimes just disappear.

* Trade Unionists being jailed.

It is not surprising that women in porn in Iran would be executed. The only surprising thing would be if they even get a trial.

I guess you havent kept up to date with the current situation in Iran Chef, they live in a Theocracy anything that they deem unholy (probably over simplified (maybe not?)) is punished severly.

Homosexuality, adultery etc in certain cases are all punishable by death. Although by the way you hear certain people on here talk you sometimes come to wonder if they would like similar actions to be taken in your country.



On to the story, not to be cruel but these people should have known better, they live in Iran!! I'm not saying they deserve to die, of course they dont. They were taking a huge risk making these films an now that they have been caught they are going to have to live with the consequences, if they get to live for very long.....

Maybe they'll just get 100 lashes.......thats........better, right??? :dunno:

I see its mostly the female performers who are getting most of the blame for this, what a surprise!!! Iran has some major women issues . What about the director or producer (if they had one)? Bet they get away almost unharmed whilst the women are hung or stoned or beheaded.
