Instant Chat On Freeones

I have been spending more time here and I just wish sometimes it was possiable

If you had IM , most people would end up not posting on the boards

Like what do you mean? Instant messenger type of thing? Cause well thats when you PM and find a way to talk with that person off the board. I don't know how many convos I had that way on another message board. Usually 6 or 7 at the same time as the board.

Instant messaging encourages people to put even less effort into their posts than they already do. It's hard enough as it is to interpret all the gibberish posted by the illiterates and intellectually challenged here.

In theory it is a great idea, but it would get abused within minutes. If you OCSMs build a relationship with someone and want to IM, you can do it thru aol, msn, yahoo.....

I think if you want to IM with someone from here, you should just do it on yahoo or AIM or something. Putting a chat room here would take away from the boards, and would cause lots of (additional) flaming. If you like someone enough to chat with them, a simple message will let you know each others IM handle.
