Ico and Shadow of the Colossus HD CONFIRMED!!!

Famitsu has confirmed that the PlayStation 3 versions of ICO and Shadow of the Colossus will be upped to HD quality for their release on PlayStation 3.

The magazine has separate information boxes for each game, so it seems like they'll be released separately here in Japan. Both are listed date TBA.

The two games share two pages of coverage with The Last Guardian, also listed as date TBA. The magazine shows three pics of each.

From what I can see, there are no further details on The Last Guardian or the two Team ICO classics. For ICO and Shadow, the magazine simply recaps what the games are about.

It'd be nice if they completely revamped the games for rerelease, but it'll probably just be an upgrade of PS2 graphics to HD. I can live without it, though I might check out Ico if they come to the States.

they wouldn't completely revamp as it would change the game,it will be like GOW Collection HD

^^^I wouldn't have a problem with that at all. If it is done like the GoW collection it will be pretty sweet having that release a few weeks before The Last Guardian will have me wasting my life for a good couple of weeks.

i rented Shadow and played it for like 4 minutes and hated it cause i couldnt understand the controls. but it was in the movie "reign over me" with adam sandler and i really wanted to play the game and see how awesome it was.
maybe this happening in HD may get me to give it another shot?!

Sorry to hear you didn't like it. Definitely give it another shot. It is by far the most artistically beautiful game ever. You fall in love with your character and his horse fairly quickly and hardly a word is ever spoken. The battles with the Colossuses are fucking intense. My favorite might have been the battle with the dragon in the desert. Nothing like riding along the dragon and when its wing is down, jumping from your horse to the dragon is awesome.

Why does the monster in this game look like Falcor from The Never Ending Story?

I think Sony's policy is 250k = greatest hit qualifications. So it didn't have to sell a HUGE amount to do well, but I really enjoyed both games and still think Shadow of the Colossus is the best game for PS2 period.

I actually heard it sold decently here, especially for this kind of game

it sold badly WW

barely crossed 1m

great games but niche category

but they will get to north america as the word of mouth is so great now and also they are looking to build their HD classic library

I never actually planned either of these but saw my buddy play them when they first came out on the PS2. If this does come out I may have to give it a try they looked cool when he was playing them.

I picked up my copy today and it is as good as I remember. Granted, the controls take some time to get back into and the camera is somewhat more frustrating than I remember but I love Colossus and Ico (I've only played Shadow remastered so far)
