I would like your comments and opinions on if I should get a Apple Mac

I have an HP desktop computer that has Windows pre-installed and it works wonders. I have had Windows from XP to 7. Now, I'm looking for a change in the operating system. So, I figured I would get an iMac. I was going to get the MacBook Pro, but I can't stand replacing the battery every few years once it loses its charge and because it has CD/DVD drive. Initially I thought I didn't want an iMac because the newer models don't have the CD/DVD drive. However, since I upgraded to Blu-ray, I am going to get an external Blu-ray drive for the iMac.

I will be using the iMac for burning discs, editing videos, photoshop, web browsing, listening to music, etc. I know, these tasks can already be done using a computer with the Windows operating system. But, since I have been using Windows for a long time, I have considered switching to, well, between, Windows and Mac OS. I have never used Mac OS, or even used a Mac before. Windows has been pretty much the same to me and I am wanting to make a change. The majority of computer parts found in a Apple Mac can already been found in cheaper and/or high end "PCs". There are malware designed for Macs, so Macs are no longer immune to malware, due to thousands of Macs being infected by the "Flashback" malware, but anti-malware software companies have created anti-malware products for Macs now. I'm just looking for a new user interface and user experience.

Please leave your comments and opinions. Based on your comments and opinions, I will decide if spending a $1,000+ on a computer is worth it. Also, please list the pros and cons of why and why I should not get an Apple Mac computer. Thanks!
