i wonder how many pornstars/models do drugs?

My buddy is working on a book where goes out and talks to people ... gets their life stories and shit. Really interesting stuff. He talks to bums, teacher, CEOs the people he has met are really diverse. He spent a couple nights and days at a local strip club. Met all the bouncers became really good friend with some of the strippers and got a lot of really interesting stuff (behind the scenes). He even spent a couple hours talking to Selena Steele. All the people there told different things about the adult industry, but the head bouncer there basically broke it down for him. This bouncer said that ¼ strippers have been sexually assaulted or witnessed a sexual assault. So many of them are pretty messed up in the head. A lot of them do drugs just so they can go on stage and perform. The head bouncer said most of these girls at the club were on coke. Most the bouncers and owner know this goes on, but they turn their head. They just keep an eye out to make sure the girls are not to fucked up to dance. They send home the ones that are all messed up. The ones the send home usually are also helped or told about services to help them with their addiction.

Anyway, where I was going with this story is that he said that he got the same vibe about the porn industry. Maybe not the mainstream porn stars we see but the amateur ones. I dunno basically I would say that there is probably just as many porn stars on drugs as there are stock brokers on drugs. Everyone is different, but I think that this is industry like many others has a darker side to it that we don’t see.

It's either that the ones that did drugs like to speak out on it or it's alot. Almost all the ones that I've seen asked about it said yes.

Inferring from one of those late night ITV specials about porn, it seems as though Alyson McKenzie's something of a pothead...

I once saw an episode of porno valley which featured Dani Woodward. She was just starting out and trying to get a contract with Vivid, but first she needed to take a drugs test. She took it and told everybody she'd passed....she was bullshitting. I don't know if she's still doing drugs

No offense, but I'm not really sure what the point of this thread is. Is it merely asking the stated question, or is it one of those, "pornstars are miserable people that need to take drugs" threads?

I don't have any facts to support my opinions, but here they are anyway:

1. I think most pornstars are in the business because they're exhibitionists and doing porn is a release for them. That's why I don't scratch my head at someone like Tera Patrick, for example, (who's a nurse) and ask, "Why are you doing this when you could earn a good living elsewhere?" Obviously, she's not what most people would call a "regular" person, and if she hadn't entered porn and had instead gotten a regular job she'd still prolly have to find some other sort of "outlet" for her sexual tendancies.

2. The money is good, so plenty of women are in porn because it pays a lot better than anything else they'd be qualified for..... nevertheless, not just anybody can do a porn flick, so it takes a person with a certain kind of personality to do it. Nevertheless, I'm sure many of those girls DO hate their jobs, and maybe some of them DO drink or take drugs to get through the day. Do people in other professions do the same? They sure as hell do... it's likely more prevalent in porn, however.

3. Though I've never met a pornstar, I know there is a bit of a "glamorous" lifestyle within the industry. The actors are minor celebrities that get to meet/date/etc. with well-known celebrities like professional atheletes, the ladies have their own fans, get to be front and centre at conventions., etc., etc.... and I'm sure many of them like the "glitz" that comes along with that. As we all know, however, alcohol and drugs are common within the whole "glamour" lifestyle, and no doubt some of the girls get caught up in that too. Keep in mind, however, that drug use isn't just more common among pornstars, it's also more common among pro athletes, musicians, and actors... I doubt anyone here is going to argue that those people take drugs because they hate what they do for a living.

One would think that many get into the business because of this and if they aren't already the temptation must have been there or presented at some point during their career. They seem to go hand in hand.

just wondering... im talking about somwhat hardcore drugs. im guessing a bunch. what do you think?

Wow this is quite personal. I believe that if the lady would be divulging this information, then it should be kept between herself, her therapists (psychologists, psychiatrists) and her family. No lady or OCSM would want to discuss this: their addictions (alcoholism or narcotic abuse) on a public forum.

And if they did ... It's none of your damn business!!

8 years. This thread was dead for 8 years. The U.S. had a white, squinty-eyed president, gasoline only peaked $2.00/gal., "Friends" and "Frasier" were still on the air, Jimmy Fallon was still busy ruining SNL sketches instead of his own talk show, Sammy Hagar was still in Van Halen, Only 2 Doobie Brothers were dead, and Dimebag Darrell was still alive!!
...and you resurrected this thread like some kind of voodoo bajooboo priest. It's a goddamn miracle. :zombie:
Yeah, pornstars, drugs, bloobidyblah.
