I need your help with MySpace...

This is a call out to everyone, especially all of my friends here.

OK, I'm willing to bet that many of you have MySpace accounts. That being said, if you're a member here at Freeones as well as on MySpace, I'm willing to bet that you either know of an adult entertainer on MySpace or even have one of them on your friends list, like I do.

Just a day or two ago, I got a message from Whitney Wonders saying that MySpace had, for no reason and with no explanation, blocked the use of her e-mail. Besides saying what had happened, she also asked that people start sending messages to MySpace Customer Service to convince them to unblock her.

For me personally, I've written to MySpace and asked all of my friends there to do the same. now, I'm asking all of you, my friends here, to do the same. Below is a copy of the mail that I sent, so please read it and, if you feel the same way that I do, I would really appreciate it if you would assist me.

"One of my friends has, for no reason and with no forewarning, had the use of their MySpace e-mail blocked. I know that some of you might not approve of her or her profession of choice, but, taking that into consideration, you cannot argue with the fact that she has the liberty to express her views within the bounds and by-laws of MySpace. If you feel the same way that I do about this, please send the following message (or a message of your choice condemning this action) to MySpace Customer Service:

I would like to inquire why my friend Whitney Wonders has had her e-mail blocked. Whitney Wonders is a person that, like most other users, enjoys the liberties and respects the associated by-laws of MySpace. There is no reason why she should be unfairly singled out and be forced to endure this hardship. Please reinstate Whitney Wonders' e-mail as soon as possible.

Thank you for your help in this. Let's keep MySpace free, open, and accessible for everyone."

Thank You,
Alex

On the news the other day they were talking of MySpace being reevaluated and a lot redone. New rules concerning adults access to children first and foremost. Also that using it for free advertising and running adult businesses from it is to be stopped.

In the afterglow of 2257, many independent adult entrepreneur's have gone the MySpace route. Using them as the middle man to avoid responsibility of the taxing job of records etc. Because at that point it then becomes MySpaces job since it is on the net via them. My space I suppose is not going to want to do that. It was a good camouflage for the awhile, but I suppose the party is over. :dunno:

I don't have a account and honestly am not a fan of the place, the opposite in fact. I am sorry for your friend though, they never should have allowed it to begin with. With all the bad press lately the site has I guess come to the point that they realize changes must be made.

They wanted to grow at the start and so they allowed anything to go on there. The are huge now, but bad publicity has forced their hand. I am sure at this point she isn't the only one being forced out. Unless they feel she broke some other rule. I'm not aware of the whole story so I can only say what I've heard on the news. Coming in after the fact in this type situation and halting things is not the right way I feel. They knew in the beginning I feel, what was right and what was wrong, but rode it out for the $$$$ Greed doesn't care about the people. You don't let things you know aren't right ride until the heats on then say "Oh no you can't do this." puts a bitter pill in peoples mouths. To little too late as they say. All IMHO of course.

Given that myself - and quite a few of the old Freeones crew - are on MySpace and have been for several years now, I'm personally leaning towards the possible (there is a percentage here, folks) explanation that the individual in question has either sent out mass bulletins - and has been shut down for spamming - OR has violated the site rules in some way that she may or may not be aware of.

MySpace doesn't arbitrarily alter an individual's account UNLESS there is an egregious violation of the rules (i.e., Click HERE for the MySpace Terms And Conditions) ... or multiple complaints have been sent in regarding either the posted content, the bulletin, or the account.

I don't know this individual nor do i know anything more than what's been posted, so I can't say with any kind of authority what's taken place or who's to blame. She may, in fact, be the victim of a malicious hacker attempt ... we all know that they're out there. Or, as stated, she may have violated the terms and conditions in some way.

Who knows? :dunno: :hatsoff:

I have a myspace account.. and if it wasnt for the whole, find damn near anybody by using their name or email.. I'd have closed the account and started an anti-myspace tirade somewhere. It's just so.. awful. Errors out more than windows95. Counter and bulletin issues all over...

Of all the possible places for idiot teenagers to make popular, they chose THATplace.

myspace??? more like myspam nowadays all i get is messages from accounts no longer active/available.
i have mostly just comedians, and rock groups that i like and a handful of friends. i barely even use it

myspace is for teens to troll for booty. and for old sex offenders to troll for teen booty.

why would I care about any famous people and want to look like I'm cool by extension by adding a fake blog for a pornstar that I have never met or talked to as my buddy?

and I got kicked off of myspace for saying that tom was a queer.

How can I put this hmmm...

Oh yes MySpace is a waste of good internet!

I joined two years ago and stop using it two years ago. Or to be exact 1 hour after I joined.

Why because all it is for is people pretending their something or somebody their not. Ninety percent of the accounts for model/pornstars/actress, etc are run by some fake person pretending to be them. Or you get the person you went to school/work/in a team/just knew locally on there. When you read their page and bio are totally different from the person your know.

So sorry alexios I hope they shut the whole thing down and do something productive with it. Like just show a test page, as that would be more interesting!

That's really true Poggy! Everyone I know seems totally different when you read their myspace! Maybe that's because people are complex - but also, fake, you're right. But a lot of the porn girls really run their myspace. Most of the big musicians on the other hand, and actors - don't. Because they have publicists do it for them. It's easy to tell if they're fake or not generally. Usually the official myspaces announce that the band/actor do not run the site themselves.

Yes they do don't they. They go round to their house and actually ID them

Maybe I should start one saying I'm Lucy Pinder. I'm sure I could answer all their questions to prove I am. The only way they could prove who you really are is by getting your personal information from your IP service provider. I for one wouldn't join a service provider who'd do that.

I keep in touch with a lot of old friends through it like I said, so I'm glad it exists, not to mention the whole, pick out a girl you like, add her, and you never know what might happen angle.

What the girl who turns out to be some old 50 year old guy

I have 3 myspaces - one for my political movement (mostly inactive), one for my sex life (mostly pornstars and strippers), and one for me, which is my music page. That is the one I spend all my time on, and that is the one which for me, I really couldn't live without, because it's the way people hear my music. Right now anything from 50 to 100 people hear my main song every day, and it's getting more and more. The top bands and new upcoming bands get thousands of listens a day. If it wasn't for myspace, at least half of the people that love my music, and are waiting for the new CD eagerly, would never have heard of it.

Fox

Why am I not suprised you have 3 accounts. Sorry I am suprised I thought you'd have more :1orglaugh

As for hearing new bands. How do you think it worked before the internet and especially MySpace. The same way people hear of them for the first time now. It's called radio and fly posting ;)
