Racing is life... anything else is just waiting.
I'm sick of people treating us like our corrupt government officials are any less corrupt than the corrupt government officials in other states. Why we get no luv for Hairdo Bob?!
Ol' Hairdo (and his hag of a wife) was swept into office by the TEA Party and the Evangelical crowd based around Lynchburg. And while we typically vote the opposite party into the governor's office after a Presidential election, we've been pretty good about not choosing wingnuts/extremists from either party. But the VA GOP has been heavily influenced, if not taken over, by the radicals from the TEA Party (the same disease that's affected the national GOP). This (now indicted) crook talked the right talk to the sheep (lies covered by more lies), and combined with us almost always going the other way politically, for Governor and Attorney General, we got this crook and his (true) wingnut toadie, Ken Cuccinelli (Kookinelli) - who we thankfully sent packing in the last election.
Just because we don't have a history of having major crooks in high office (like Illinois, New York and New Jersey), that don't mean we should be treated like second class citizens!!! Show us some luv!!!!!!!!!!
Ex-Va. governor, wife indicted on corruption charges
Prosecutors allege pair illegally accepted gifts, other benefits

(WALL STREET JOURNAL) Federal authorities charged former Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell and his wife on Tuesday with illegally accepting luxurious gifts, vacations, loans and the use of a private jet in exchange for promoting dietary supplement products.
The 14-count indictment alleges that Mr. McDonnell, once a rising star within the Republican Party, used his office to promote the company, Virginia-based Star ScientificInc., STSI +1.48% by arranging meetings for its then chief executive with state officials and hosting events at the governor’s mansion, designed in part to encourage state university researchers to study the company’s products.
At the same time, authorities charged, Mr. McDonnell and his wife, Maureen, solicited and accepted more than $135,000 in loans and gifts from the then-CEO, Jonnie Williams Sr. , including thousands of dollars in designer clothing and golf outings for Mr. McDonnell and his sons, and the use of Mr. Williams’ vacation home and Ferrari.
A ride in a Ferrari and a cheap Rolex was all it took to get a dick into Hairdo Bob's mouth.
