I Claudius was a 1976 BBC tv mini series based on a 1934 book of the same name.
I never saw it until now and I'm glad I did, it was pretty good.

Keeping Track of who's who was a task.
I kept having to reference back to the wikipedia page
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I,_Claudius_(TV_series)
to be sure of who the characters were in "relation" to one another.
Pretty much all of them were related in one way or another.

Anybody here seen this series?
If not its worth a watch if you like Roman history.

Ace Boobtoucher

Founder and Captain of the Douchepatrol
Yeah. I've seen it. I prefer "Black Adder" when it comes to political intrigue.

Rane1071

For the EMPEROR!!
Yeah I used to watch it with my old man when I was a wee lad. Those old school British actors were/are awesome.

Yeah, I binge watched it from beginning to end while on a break a few years ago. I'm a Romaphile and I found it entertaining, intriguing and rather sad.

When I think about this period of Roman history, I often ask myself what would the modern world be like had Germanicus lived and the Republic been restored? There is every indication that he would have done that, as he had republican beliefs. Without the incompetence of maniacal emperors, would Rome have continued to stand and would the Dark Ages have never happened? Would that multi century blight on human history have never taken place? Where would we be today? Think about what the failure of Rome did to human history for hundreds of years.

Wow. Yeah thats a lot to consider.

I know you like Roman History.
I watched it in about 4 days.

Germanicus dying before his time really was significant.
Augustus should have just made him his heir and told Livia and Tiberius to F off.
