How do I download lower resolution videos?

Hi everyone!
Prior to yesterday, I had no issue changing the videos to a lower resolution and downloading them at that lower resolution. Now suddenly, while I can change the resolution once I click "play," when the settings icon appears, I find I can only download the videos at the original higher resolution. I can't help but feel I'm missing the obvious.

Sorry, I'll try again.

Prior to yesterday, I could change the resolution of videos by clicking an icon on at the bottom of the web player, then when the lower resolution video started, I could right-click on the video and save it. As of yesterday, the embedded web player has changed. When I right-click on the video now, the context menu doesn't give me the option to save the video.

The only way I can save a video now is by right-clicking on the "Download" button below the video player, and choosing "Save Link." But that link is to the video at the resolution originally loaded in the page. I'm poor, my computer was manufactured sometime around when the Vikings were sacking Britton, it's slow and chokes on HD videos. If I could afford to replace it right now I would.

If I'm still not clear, please don't get frustrated, I'll keep plugging away at it myself. Thanks.

In other words, I'm trying to download 480p or less videos, which I could easily do before yesterday.

When I asked for an example I meant that literally (like this) so I could make sure you were talking about what I thought you were talking about which was videos on the main FreeOnes website but yes, the video player changed as of yesterday apparently - but I don't know much about it, personally.

Will ask and get back to you, but it might not be until next week.

Yes, the main website. I apologize, my elevator didn't go all the way up. I sense, since I did search before posting and saw no other threads pertaining to your new player, that the issue is my antiquated machine. Let me know. Thank you.

OK. I think I see what you are saying now.

The old player (left) had the option to change resolution, and new new one (right) has the same options too... the only difference being you are unable to download it at said resolution.

First of all, was it definitely the player itself that allowed you do download it at the selected resolution, or did you have a plugin installed?

As far as I'm aware, the download link underneath the player has always downloaded the file at one set quality; which is maximum - so that remains the case.

Whether anything can be done about it, I don't know - but the first step is to confirm I have understood you correctly and we'll go from there. Thanks.

You are correct, it was the old player which allowed me. I have no plug ins for downloading stuff. I appreciate the effort but at this point I've given up. I'll click on the download button under the new player and if the filename defaults to "1080p.mp4" I just close the Save File dialog and move on.

Maybe one day in the future there may be an update to this current player to allow it to do what the old player did, but it's not the end of the world. I'll just live with it the way it is.

Eventually, one day, I'll have the means to get a more modern machine, with better hardware.

Many thanx!
