Japanese were not barbaric, Muslims are not evil, Whites are not racist. It really gets under my skin when people group and entire class of people. An idividual followed an order from another individual. If you studied the Muslim faith, you would understand that the "true Muslim" faith is extremely well mannered, and adopts a major recpect for human life. Down through generations it has been changed by extremeist (individuals) at take on a totally different persona from years of opression.

The Japanese did not kill your great-grand-father. A person was responsable for his death, not the Japanese. We all have to choose. We are all individuals. If I go out here and kill another man, that dosent mean all mixed race people are killers.

If I can leap from mid court and slam-dunk a basketball throught a hoop dosent mean because I have black in me Im good at basketball. There are all types of races that are good in basketball, just not publicized like blacks are in American basketball.

If I can spell any and all words correctly in any lauguage dosent mean because I have asian blood in my veins Im a good speller, it means "I" studied, or "I" have a gift (individual).

Please folks understand this. It does humanity harm when we categorize in this fashion. We are seeding the problem. Just think about it before you do it.

I couldn't agree more. It was not the Japanese as a whole who decided to attack Pearl Harbour or build Unit 731. These were decisions made by those at the very top. Mainly by a man who at the time was considered a living god. Let's not group all Japanese people at the time into one, especially not those at Hiroshima and Nagasaki who because of the war were mainly women, children and old people. They didn't do anything, It was the policies carried out by Hirohito and his generals that started the war. They were just that disgusting term "collateral damage".

As Friday said above, with all the money and time they spent on the project there was no way they weren't getting dropped no matter what condition the Japanese were in. The "bomb" was - in my opinion - far more of a warning to the Soviets than to anyone else. Truman and Roosevelt before him knew exactly how the Soviets were positioning themselves. This was a propaganda tool far more than it was a object of war.

And oh what happy days followed.

Wow, twisting my words and the truth.
The Japanese were barbaric.........Did I say every Japanese person no.
But how else could I word it? Ok The Japanese military was barbaric,

I've listened to many former Japanese soldiers speaking of WWII.
It was common practice to enter a village, kill the men, kill the babies and little boys and use them for bayonet practice many times.
Kill the older women and gangrape the young girls then throw them into a tent and burn them alive.
They did this to millions in the first half of the century.
It was also common for them to castrate, decapitate, or use prisoners for medical experiments.
Such as cutting off a limb, freezing or burning alive, shooting in various places, ect, just to watch what happens.
Did I mention disecting people alive?
So I will say it again, the Japanese were Barbaric.

Like I always say, if you don't want more Hiroshimas don't give us more Pearl Harbors. The scary part is that we just had one more Pearl Harbor back in 2001, so I wonder where the next Hiroshima is going to be.

Anyway, I don't worry about it, I already learned to love the bomb. :D

You don't think that that kind of attitude is going to reward you with more 9/11's?

Pearl Harbour was expansionism. 2001 was demonstrative against American policy.

Also Pearl Harbor was an outright act of aggression by sovereign country against another. While 9/11 was a criminal act done by criminals.Very different.

Yeah, they're very different but I think what's considered criminality will always be debatable. Still today, you can readily find people in support of the jihadists and suicide bombers - folks are happy enough to explain themselves and it usually comes back to US foreign policy unfortunately.

For sure in the great documentary "Why we fight" former CIA types call it "blowback" meaning the hatreds are results of animosity's over some of our foreign policys.

"Oh those poor pooooor japanese"...

YAAAAAAAAAAWN.

It's called karma.

Ask the rest of the Pacific Rim is they thought the Japanese "deserved" it... or ask our own soldiers.

It happened, it's history, it saved more lives in the log run, get over it.

Correct. Pearl Harbor was a direct result of the Japanese wanting to control all of the resources in the Pacific. The only thing that stood in their way was the United States, and if they could attack the Pacific Fleet in port and destroy it where it sat they could do as they pleased unopposed. But it didnt work out as they planned and they woke the sleeping tiger. I may not agree with all my countries decisions, thats my right given to me by my Constitution. but I will support her always, and I`m damn tired of every country in the world with a chip on it`s shoulder blaming all it`s problems on our "policies".

what the fuck you lookin at?
Human ingenuity at its finest! :hatsoff:

By ingenuity I of course me stupidity. The atomic bomb is the worst thing we humans have come up with. It very well could lead to our own extinction.

thanks for the pics.

most people don't realize that if the japanese had the bombs and the opportunity to bomb the u.s., the u.k., canada, australia, or any other allied country during wwII the japanese would have used it within a heartbeat.

Thankfully we had Truman in office at that time. He ended the war quickly, and with minimal loss of American lives. We should celebrate VJ Day, not look at this as an atrocity.
