Help us help you (?!)
Perhaps the title of this thread may seem hackneyed and even vague, but the subject is about “ID’s.”
If you are submitting a link asking for an identification of a model, do be so good as to give the rest of us a brief description of the model. Simply demanding “Needs ID,” or “Who is this?” (however you care to spell it) or the infernal “X-number (of models, presumably) to ID” is hardly the way to go about asking someone to divert their effort from their own interests and on to help someone else. Give us a description, both in the title of the thread and along with the enclosed link(s) so that we have some general IDea of the type of model in question. “Gimme a (sic) ID” is no way to enlist this member’s assistance.
Providing a description of some sort will be helpful both to the person requesting the identification (to reiterate, without any descriptive text I will flatly refuse to reply with any information, even if I can make the identification and have a fistful (as in five) of links to go along with it). Blond, brunette, redhead; teen, ***, mature; tanned, tattooed, pierced; tall, short, lithe, plump; new, old, 90’s, 80’s, vintage; on the beach, in the bath, on a bike or a boat; posing next to a car, a waterfall, a piano, or even in some extremely rare--in fact very rare cases, with a Premium Link Upgrade ! You get the idea.
Many of us are more familiar with certain types of models than we are with others, which is predicated upon our personal preferences as well as our age, location, language capabilities, and other factors. As an example, and while it does get awfully cold where I live, but if the thread were to state in the title “Platinum-blond, bandolier-bound Eskimo biker teen posing in narwhal-hide boots needs ID,” I could honestly say that I would be of little value in making the identification, and if anything, would have greatly appreciated the warning.
By the way, those incessant threads of which seemingly appear on a daily basis with the maximum allotment of links asking for identification of totally unrelated models are a great source of irritation and I regard its deposition akin the way the school teacher hands out meaningless written assignments merely to keep the students “busy” while he/she inbibes themselves in the faculty smoking lounge.
The best way to recieve attention for your thread is to "package" it with some inspiring and descriptive text that will elicit our interest, not merely flinging at our face as if we were the hapless Bumstead at the J.C. Dithers Co. Here are just a few (a few meaning "four" in this instance) examples of how to present a model for identification by one of our more active members:
