Hawaii to become independent?

I don't see why not.

Any state should be able to make itself completely independent.

no, they shouldn't. they are responsible for a portion of the national debt, the national deficit, maintenance of the armed forces, national guard, power grid, senatorial and gubernatorial representation, and so forth. not to mention all the citizens of the U.S.A. that live in those states who will have to be given the option to move to the nation of their birth and citizenship, that should be at no or little cost to those citizens.

what happens to border patrol, border crossing, trade in USA and internationally, finances, currency, nafta agreements, nato agreements, u.n. agreements, and so forth?

easy to say let them become completely independent, ridiculously involved and virtually impossible when you start considering even the immediately obvious implications.

Yes, they should. :hatsoff:

I do not care. UN, NAFTA: Bob Dole said he wouldn't let it pass and people still vote for the "big two."

America shouldn't be in the UN and their embassy should be removed form American soil.

The currency could stay the same.

I just don't care.

It's good to be the king...
And why not?
I was under the impression that all of Hawaii agreed to joining the U.S., but the article from whimsy is very enlightening:

The Hawaiian kingdom was overthrown in 1893 when a group of white businessmen forced Queen Liliuokalani to abdicate while U.S. Marines came ashore.

About 94 percent of Hawaii voters supported statehood in 1959, but opponents argue the vote was tainted because the only choice on the ballot was to become a state or remain a territory — independence was not an option.

Here Zombie, Zombie, Zombie...
Texas is saying the same thing. Won't happen. It would be curious though, if it did. Hawaii and Texas, breaking away.

Yes, they should. :hatsoff:

Should be able to, maybe, but that doesn't mean they can...

If I remember correctly the last time a bunch of US states wanted to secede it ended in a war that lasted for 4 years...

All American states should become independent. Then when you have weakened yourselves through separation, squabbling & infighting the mighty British shall invade & reclaim their colony, such as it has become!

SSSSSHhhh!!!!

You're giving the master plan away. :nono:

Is that war finally over?

Like the Alaska Independence Party a small loud fringe who needs to be ignored. Pay no attention.

Two distinctly different motivations, the Alaska Independent Party and this Hawaiian Independence Action Alliance.

I would have thought that you'd be on the side of the native Hawaiians
Purge those disgusting white imperialists
