Hard Truths for Left Wing Gay Activists

Donald Trump has been the target of liberal hate since he announced that he would be running for president. There was even a Women’s March against Trump that included the LGBT community.

However, this Administration will be historic for gay and lesbian Americans. Donald Trump is the first President of the United States who was elected as an open supporter of the gay community at large and gay marriage specifically.

Moreover, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton both opposed gay marriage. In fact, it took Dick Cheney in 2004 and Joe Biden in 2008 for President Obama to voice support of gay marriage. Even then, it took a conservative Supreme Court to make national gay marriage the law of the land.

Alas, these inconvenient truths are hard to digest for the left-wing gay activists. But the fact remains that Donald Trump has been far ahead of the crowd on several issues, including gay rights.

The LGBT communities biggest concern is with Mike Pence and the crazy idea that the vice president applied electroshock therapy to convert gays and lesbians into being straight.

Nonetheless, President Trump now has a historic platform to demonstrate by deeds that he shows no animus toward the LGBT community yet at the same time not advocating for special rights. I have confidence that Trump and Attorney General Jeff Sessions will carry out our civil rights laws in an equal fashion, which includes LGBT protection and protection of religious freedom.

At the end of the day, Donald Trump is in a unique position to show that he is friend, not foe, of the millions of American gays and lesbians.

Can anyone tell me what exactly was the point of the women's march on Saturday? Trump doesn't give a fuck about gay marriage and abortion. But that's what the MSM wants you to believe.

Yep. Trump has been pro gay marriage consistently as a candidate and now as president. Both Obama and Clinton opposed it as recently as 4 years ago. Well, they didn't really..but you know what I mean..they said they opposed it.

That's a good point. Obama wasn't really against same sex marriage. At least privately he wasn't but publicly that was the stance he took. What pisses me off is that he played politics with it. Instead of coming out of the gate as pro gay marriage let's keep the gay card in our pocket and then whip it out come reelection time so that Obama can then become the savior of gay rights. Get real smh. They're all full of shit these politicians. And yet people still don't understand why Trump got elected?

Trump has already scubbed the LGBT-BBQ page from the White House website. :stir:

Trump is going g to be one of those presidents that compartmentalizes his personal beliefs from policy. His supporters are going to love it at times and hate it other times.

He is not in any hurry to kill DACA. I think he wants congress to act upon it.

One reason I voted for him was because I was told he was fixing to create lynch mobs to remove the homosexual scurge from our country once and for all.

lol might I ask where you've been the last 18 months to think Trump "doesn't give a fuck about abortion"?

He's been very outspoken about the issue. And no doubt owes a whole bunch of political favors to the religious right.
Why just today he did the usual new-Republican-administration-hat-dance that re-instates The Mexico City Policy.
He sure as hell isn't planning on nominating a pro abortion judge to the Supreme Court. On the contrary, he's completely determined not to.

He's also resisted any talk of defunding PP.

Here, take one of these pink pussy hats.

From what I understand Trump signed a thing saying USA aid dollars will no longer fund organizations that provide abortions overseas even if they use separate dollars for these efforts.

I don't care what a woman does with her body but I'm not paying for your abortion unless there is a health issue. Abortions are often used as birth control for women that can't keep their legs closed. You miss your period and don't want a baby, you pay the bill to get rid of it.

"Take him seriously but not ___________." I forgot what the thing we weren't supposed to take him was. "Literally", perhaps? Not sure what that means other than to say, "Hey, we fucking lie and do what we want." It's good, he's not Hillary.

You keep writing "people still don't understand why Trump got elected", but you never actually tell us what you believe are the reasons he got elected.

From my POV, he got elected because he made ridiculous, unrealistic promises that a bunch of ignorant naive people, caught up in the election mania, actually believed, because Trump is a good con artist and knows how to manipulate crowds, and his anti Mexican and anti Muslim comments got him the racist votes too.
BTW, if Clinton had won with a minority of the population, all the right-wingers would be calling for the abolishment of the Electoral College.

Now tell us why i'm wrong and why Trump actually won. If it makes sense and is something I didn't think of I'll change my POV and agree with you.

I'm sure there are millions of people who think like that and lets not forget all the colored people, most of them are probably illegals, lets round them up, put chips in them like the SPCA puts RFID chips in animals to ID them, move them to "special camps" for their protection against lynch mobs and then"deport" them back to their native countries.

^^^^^^^^^^ The second paragraph of that post could most definitely apply to Obama and his voters.
Just stop. Both parties' supporters basically have dumb asses and vote for the candidate based upon identity politics and hot button issues.

And no, we wouldn't be calling for the abolition of the electoral college. Not if you are going to be anywhere near constitutionally consistent.

Pregnancies can only happen when there is a "prick" involved.
Don't put all the blame on women, the blame falls mostly on the "pricks".
The responsibility of aborting or having and raising a child falls mainly on the woman.

It's just an observation, I have my doubts that Trump will be able to keep most of his unrealistic promises, but I hope I'm wrong and he somehow does make most of his promises happen.
Because politics and the economy are monopolized by corporations and other rich greedy assholes who don't give a shit what happens to the middle class or poor.
They need to be replaced with politicians who actually care about the people, and are willing to do whats right for everyone, instead of only the rich minority.

what about "wiping radical islam from the face of the earth?" he forgot to add "carpet bombing" somewhere in there.

of course he isn't going deliver on those promises, but it's enough for me that he wants to.

A lot of ignorant and naive people who voted for Trump actually believe he would deliver on those promises.
That's one of the reasons he won the election.

No, that's probably true, but McConnell and Ryan care. And it's looking pretty convincingly like in exchange for being allowed to loot the treasury and pack the cabinet full of his billionaire buddies, drumpf is going to rubber stamp anything those 2 put on his desk. Drumpf is planning to spend the next 4 years campaigning, stroking his ego, and raping the country for all he can get. Policy is going to come from Pence and the right wing lunatics in congress.

Hahaha, oh yes. If there's one thing we can expect from republicans, it's consistency!

If you could be honest for one second (you can't) you'd accept that if Hillary had lost the popular vote by 3 million but still won the presidency, your side would be calling for civil war. FFS, even your exalted clown himself said he wouldn't accept legitimate election results if he lost. Then imagine if Hillary had lost the vote, and it was revealed that Russia had interfered with the election in her favor. And you expect us to believe the right would just sit back and say "oh well, guess we lost this one"? You should have spicer's job, you seem more at ease with dispensing fantasy as fact than even he does.
