Here's the deal. I've started working out a lot again, but need some new lifting music. I already have my running playlists, but need some heavy metal/hard rock music to keep me pumping the iron. Any suggestions.

The ones I laready have are anything off of And Justice For All and songs from Godsmack.

I'm not typically a Metallica fan, but open to trying it out. I've liked AJFA, especially "One" but just not sure. Please keep this a rolling list I can just add to the ipod so I don't get bored.

You could listen to "live for this" by hate breed.

I normally listen to trance/techno while running and nothing while lifting.

Motorhead - Ace of Spades
Rob Zombie - Superbeast
System of a Down - Sugar
Edgar Winters - Frankenstein
Focus - Hocus Pocus
ZZ Top - La Grange
Mago de Oz - Molinos de Viento
Ramms+ein - Spieluhr
Rolling Stones - Paint It Black
AC/DC - Thunderstruck
Nightwish - The Pharaoh Sails to Orion

A lot of Chemical Brothers (Setting Sun is my favorite) songs, NIN, Oasis (only one song and that's 'Fuckin in the Bushes'), Smashing Pumpkins. Normally though I actually don't listen to anything. It's one of the few times I can just think to myself

I tend to work out to Pain, Nightwish, Epica and the like. Especially pain. Look for "shut your mouth" on Youtube and you'll find a bunch of their other songs as well for an idea of their sound. For running I tend to listen to the Cruxshadows because it has a good beat to jog by.

See? I told Nightwish was a good band to listen to while working out! But, hey, don't take my word for it, Petra was the one who said it. :D

I also hear they're pretty fucking awesome to see in concert...but I'd never know since every 7ft tall dutchie had to stand in front of me. I had to see bits and pieces on YouTube. :crying:

They sounded good though. :)

Yeah, they're great live. I tried watching from the floor, but I quickly realized that 5'11" is too short to try watching a show from the floor, so I went backstage and watched it. It's not as good as watching them from the front, but at least I got to see them and not their fans. Also, earlier that day I had lunch with them (sort of) and got Marco's permission to make an arrangement of Ghost Love Score (which is still in the works).

I've decided when I go to see Epica next Saturday I'm going to take the kitchen step ladder with me. It never fails, at 5'5" I attract every dutch person over 6ft tall and they ALL have to stand in front of me. Even in small club settings.

And feel free to pass that arrangement on to me when you get it done. :) Oh, if you haven't heard of Pain I highly suggest you look them up. They've opened for Nightwish for the past 2 tours here in Europe.

OK, I'll do that, but do you have a 12-piece guitar orchestra to perform it? ;)

They had Sonata Artica opening for them when I saw them.
