Any software (with one exception) that I download from the web has to be portable (able to copy to a thumb drive and use it on other PC's).Nomacs, native webp support since version 1.6.0 on all platforms
Faststone image viewer, on Windows 10 apparently supports webp through Windows Imaging Component since version 7.1
My issue with WEBP is I find it surprising that it's not more widely accepted. For those averse to .webp images, it is worth double checking when you go to right click and 'save as' any images you find on the internet.
For example, I often find images I want to save to my hard drive when going through reverse image searches on Yandex. This brings together images from many different sources on the web. If I see that the file type is going to be saved as .webp, instead of saving it, I click cancel and then right click and 'save as' again. I find that quite often it then comes up as a .jpg the 2nd time, allowing me to save it in the desired fashion. This doesn't always work, but it is a way of making sure you don't end up with .webp files unless you absolutely have to.
I don't know how it works exactly but it's as if the images are served in .webp format first and foremost on the initial load and if you allow a few seconds or something it then fully loads in .jpg or whatever other format... or something along those lines. Whatever the reasoning, this has enabled me to keep the amount of .webp files I end up with to a minimum.
Xnview and FastStone aren't bad. They don't take a lot of space, but the interface of each is overly done.On the Nomacs' home page there is an unmissable link to a portable installer. Previous Linux distribution (Arch Linux) had it, have used it for several years.
Pixhost is fine.Hi, to insert images in the post how should I do, which site to use?

That thread has a lot of sites that are no longer working, or do work, but shouldn't be used for one reason or another.Pixhost is fine.
There is no set rule on which site you must use. Here's an old but useful thread on the subject with lots of different options: https://www.freeones.com/forums/thr...s-and-instructing-members-to-use-them.486721/
I think the general consensus is more or less "use anything but Imgur".
Didn't I highlite it. I can't tell as all those sites are in my cache.https://postimages.org/ supports webp
Non of them look highlited to me.Didn't I highlite it. I can't tell as all those sites are in my cache.
It's the 3rd thru 7th links that support WEBPNon of them look highlited to me.
Maybe use Bold, italic, or font size to highlite.
Color highliting may not work for everyone.

We would like to make it clear that you can still post new ID request threads, you just have to click through to the new BETA sections at the top of the page.
Posting fresh queries in the "old" sections has been disabled for the duration of this trial. Some people seem to think they can't post threads at all, which is not the case.
If the experiment is a success, you won't need to keep clicking into it because all threads will then become one section, so don't use what is a minor inconvenience for now as a reason not to like it because it won't always be this way!

Thank you!
