Seriously, there was an English language film, The Other Side of Midnight (1977), with French subtitles. Quite a few steamy scenes with Marie-France Pisier and John Beck. Originally the film got an "X" rating. They edited it and it received an "R" rating.

Last Tango in Paris (1972) with Marlon Brando and Maria Schneider also received an "X" rating which also was later edited to give them an "R" rating.
