Google-analytics causing serious slow-down?

Am I the only one experiencing this?

For the last three days, it seems that for me, Google Analytics is causing serious problems on this site. Loading a single page is taking 4-5 minutes every time. For instance, from the FreeOnes home page, it took 15 minutes just to get the stage where I could start writing this post.

It can't be a browser issue - it's the same with Firefox, Safari and (ironically) Chrome too.

I can see that when on Firefox, it tells me that it's "transferring data from google-analytics.com". That is where the page takes forever to load.

And when I press submit this thread in a moment or two, the whole process will start over again.

Does anyone know what the hell is going on? Up until 3 days ago, this problem didn't exist.

Any help/suggestions appreciated.

Don't know the root reason for it fucking up, but blocking it probably helps. Edit the hosts file and put in:

Code:
0.0.0.0 google-analytics.com
0.0.0.0 www.google-analytics.com

Hosts file is in:

Code:
Linux: /etc/hosts
Microshit: %systemroot%\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

Thanks, Automate, for those instructions. For the moment, the problem seems to be over. I'll keep your instructions handy in the meantime.
