Gonzales vows to fix Justice's image

Attorney General Alberto Gonzales says he's staying at the Justice Department to try to repair its broken image, telling Congress in a statement released Monday he's troubled that politics may have played a part in hiring career federal prosecutors.

Another example of the Hutzpah these people have.All along they have denied that political considerations were used in the firing of the US attorneys, now he's troubled by it?Everytime I hear people saying don't censure the president or we need to not propose impeachment it tells me we get the govt we deserve.They get away with all of it and will continue to just pay lip service to try to blunt any criticsm.Gonzalez should have resigned long ago but he like his boss just figures they can survive till the heat dies down and I think they have been shown to be right in that assesment.Likely only a major crisis that affects many in this country will ever be able to bring people back to whats important,unfortunately it may well be too late for democracy,the enviorment and who knows what else by the time that happens.

The story of government. A lot of times it's just the Peter Principal and people are promoted to a position of incompetency. They should step down and let the persons who really know the job do it.
