Today we celebrate a very big date for the german people. The seperation of a whole country, after World War 2, into a Soviet Section - becoming the German Democratis Republic - and the Federal Republic of Germany, taken by the USA, France and the British.
I remember the final days and weeks of the seperation, when the then Foreign Secretary, Genscher told the people who had taken refuge in the german embassy in Prague:

I am sure that there is no german who can watch this and not get goosebumps.
And the 'We Are the People' - Movement who protested every Monday evening for weeks and weeks and the leaders of the GDR just could not ignore them nor could they shoot them down or lock them up. That was a beautiful revolution.
Finally the government gave in and the Wall could finally fall.
