German court rules circumcision is 'bodily harm'

Link from BBC website, regarding this decision

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-18604664

Clearly, with the history of germany this could be a little controversial. I remember we have discussed the rights & wrongs of circumcision on here before.

My :2 cents:, i can kinda understand the historical / cultural reasons that many, especially muslims & jews do this, but i Do think it is a form of mutilation of a child
- and, while i understand there can be some benefits in protection from HIV for circumcised men, we have evolved with a foreskin & evolution doesn't normally get these things wrong

Any thoughts ?

I'm watching some specialist videos
To quote the article
The doctor involved in the case was acquitted and the ruling is not binding, but correspondents say it sets a precedent that would be taken into account by other German courts

It seems to me that this is a non story. If it sets a precedent, then the precedent is that the ruling is not binding....
