FreeOnes Site Updates - Weeks 4 & 5

I'm still unfortunately dealing with a sick developer. The good thing is he's not totally down and out and we were able to get the filters to the point that we can test them. The bad news is we're still working at half capacity.

And, unfortunately, I've been told I need to get celebrityvip up and running once and for all. So while we test and deal with the filters, we're now getting ready to wrap up that beast. However, I'm hoping those of you who are into celebs will like it! Hopefully we will see more progression with credits next!

• Babe suggestion improvements (suggesting alias, official site, social media, etc)
• Getting a piece of content to not show on a user's "new content from favorite babes" more than 1x
• Adding a WYSIWYG editor to a subject's "extra text" so we can have nice formatting, bullet points, etc
• Adding pay site reviews to channels to easier see if it's worth getting a membership
• Allow users to follow categories like babes and channels

Do you have any bullet points on the target look/functionality for the new links page. Because I don't want to complain and whine about how that looks/works since 2 days. Took away all the joy.

Well, I just like the previous view. All new links visible in a relatively compact view. Not having to open every babe and check the links. Also with viewing the link the "new" label got removed, not that doesn't go away on the header element (babe name). Honestly, this juist ruins the entire experience for me.
But, that is just an opinion. There is probably more behind a redesign (marketing reasons maybe).

The old problem with the duplicate links is still there. When multiple babes are mentioned/credited in the link while I don't even follow them.

I'm sorry to hear that you don't like it. We had a lot of people ask us to condense it down and this made the most sense to us.

Rest assure that this is temporary. We want to move everything to a proper notification page layout, kind of like facebook has if you go to all notifications. And at this point, you'll also see the new content notifications come up in the bell with a proper flyout element.

So if we added the "new" tag on the individual content releases this would make you a little happier? Just realize we can't update the "new" next to the girl's name. If there's 3 pieces of content, even if you visit the link and make the "new" tag go away on that individual link, we can't make that number next to the name count down. The way we make this work would run into privacy and tracking issues. So unless you regularly clear the page, you'd just have to open each one to see if there's more new links to look at.

The dupe links problem will go away once we put this feature into the proper notification feature.

I can work with the browsers "visited links" colours and I will just ignore the new label then. That is a bit the only thing the new label did before, so doesn't really matter if is there or not.
Just a question. If you cannot count the numbers of links clicked, what is the reason of showing that new label? When is it not new anymore? The entire page contains new links (the breadcrumb and URL already say so), so obviously it's all new until you mark it cleared. I am just thinking the other way around. Remove that entire functionality, developers happy of something less to care about. (I absolutely love to remove old/irrelevant functionality in our software projects)

I'll wait for the "proper notification page layout". It's all work in progress.

About condensing, I get the overview of the babe names. But once you open it some links are far from condensed with all the previews and babe names next to it. Maybe show that preview on hover is an alternative.

I guarantee if we remove that entire feature (which I'd be happy about, it really irritates me) we'll have a lot of people mailing and complaining.

We're not going to do anymore work on the page. This really is just a temporary feature until we ge the notifications out which can't be soon enough if you ask me. Hopefully after we get the admin upgraded next month (have to get everything up to their latest release or it'll start becoming spaghetti code in another year or two) these big features will be easier and come faster!
