And this was the President who came in saying he would resore the dignity of the White House.Obvioulsy refering to Clinton and the Lewinsky scandle. What Bush did here is light years worse than BJ's in the oval office.Out-ed a CIA agent for political purposes and then lied and covered it up.Impeachment and then trial for treason I say for anyone involved.

I think most people thought this was a "Karl Rove thing" but now that Dumya and Darth Vader's names have been dropped..this has reached a whole new level.

The sanctity of the political "system" is at stake and National Security has been "traded in" to settle a cheap political score. Valorie Plame was a CIA agent. What the administration did is unconscionable!

If President Bush had a hand in the Scooter Libby scandal...Indictments need to be handed down...Karl Rove needs to do some jail time...and Bush and Cheney need to be Impeached.

And this was the President who came in saying he would resore the dignity of the White House.
Bush's words are toxic poison.
Bush also said if there were any "leaks" coming out of his office.."I'll handle it."

Yeah, he handled it alright...he let Scooter Libby avoid paying his debt to society!

He pardoned Scooter to buy his silence, Bush and Cheney were in on this I have no doubt of it.

Silence..nah. It was all part of the plan. Scooter probably agreed to be "the fall guy" in exchange for his "commutation of sentence." Scooter is still *legally* found to have committed crimes. He wasn't exactly pardoned completly because THAT would've been too obvious, even for this administration.

Will the Special Prosecutor (Pat Fitzgerald) take this as an oppty to issue subpoenas and begin conspiracy charges?

Apparently you guys didn't read the article ...

Apparently you guys didn't read the article and most of the other, recent interviews with this guy.

He didn't name Bush or Cheney as those who provided the leak, he blames Bush and Cheney and everyone down from there for lying to him about the involvement of Rove and others in the administration. It was Scott that had to go in front of the press and nation and tell the people that no one in the administration was involved.

I know comprehension sometimes gets in the way of political alignments, but guys, he blames them for it. He has been interviewed many times recently and stated that he has no idea if Bush and Cheney were involved, and has personally felt that Bush probably played no role (Cheney may be another story though, but he doesn't say).

Hell, they still haven't even got Rove on the leak, only lying to a grand jury. There were many others in and outside the administration that were far more guilty, and yet none of them have been prosecuted. Why? Because they could not get Rove on it either. The could only get Rove on lying to grand jury.

This is continued political bullshit at its finest, and a total waste of so many things -- just like the whole Clinton investigations were before this administration. And in the next administration, it will happen again. If Hillary gets in, you can be sure she'll have to answer for a lot of crap to. Where does it end?

Scooter will do no time and be very well taken care of financially for his loyalty you watch. Its better than a pardon. Its really the congress who needs to pick up on this and start an impeachment investigation post haste so we can not let Bush just run out the clock.

Yeah because we all know he just lied to the jury for the hell of it, and they're are less than forthcoming just for fun. Just because they can't pin it on them in a court of law doesn't mean it didn't happen. Personally I have a hard time believing a lot of them weren't involved in this. At this point the administration has been so corrupt and so dishonest, and there is so many things surrounding people in it, I think anything outside of a court of law like this where what people think they did is plausible, and they are willing to either lie or not say anything to implicate themselves or others they pretty much can't be giving the benefit of the doubt and have to be considered guilty.

There are a great number of people who say such about every administration.
But instead of stepping back, picking the real targets and actually hammering the realities from the political bullshit, people just bitch in general, without facts just feelings.
And that's why nothing changes, because people diving into the realities and going after the real, chronic issues are drowned out by those who just bitch.

And people wonder why.

Back in June you were denying any wrongdoing by Libby, the White house etc.It was all a political witch hunt against the Bush administration was your line then.Check out the the last 3 posts in this thread for anyone interested.

I didn't deny any wrongdoing, I denied he would be found guilty of being the leak, of which I was correct.
He wasn't even the leak, but there were others both inside and outside of the White House who confirmed her name as a CIA agent.
There were a crapload bigger targets in this whole mess than Libby.

But none of these facts continue to remain in the popular consensus, it's insinuation after insinuation.
Doesn't matter how many times editors of various papers try to "clear it up," it doesn't matter.
And that's why nothing ever changes, because we're futzing with "perjury" over viewpoints of "the truth" and not getting to the heart of the matter.

Even the Clintons didn't get any rest in any of their years in office because they were constantly being investigated too.
Were the Clintons clearly guilty of wrongdoing against many people? Hell yes!
Was it anything that contributed to anything of national concern? Hell no!
But it make for viewership, especially after it turns from merely putting innocent people into the poorhouse to sex.

Would this whole situation make any difference in going into Iraq? Hell no!
In the absolute worst case, taking the most far left-wing conspiracies and saying they are true, this was an act of "retribution" done "after-the-fact."
Frankly, that makes me laugh, and it makes Woodward laugh and it makes countless other people laugh.

But you guys keep feeding this non-sense and that's why nothing changes.

I think with these guys, there is a very thin line between lying and full disclosure, much thinner than past administrations. I think they've made it clear they will do what they want, legal or not, with public opinion or not, and avoid legal implications as much as possible with some very sneaky attorneys. I've been reading a number of books on the White House and world affairs over the years and they are just advancing a series of lies and deceptions started a very long time ago.

I still think this guy who got all over the credibilty of Kerry's Vietnam experience, really had no right to talk. One film available on line, taked about how the entire administration was filled with draft dodgers.

From the old thread.
Then I stand corrected on that fact, and it wasn't on the Congressional floor.
Then again, Congress has been using the courts (both parties) to do this for a good decade now.
Sigh.

It was publicly revealed in that article for the first time, yes.
But it was known by several reporters -- prior to that article or any call to Libby.
Woodward, among others, have pointed that out repeatedly.

Again ...
1) You can't leak what people already knew
2) Anyone who did originally leak that (which wasn't the White House) were not guilty of any crime

In June there was no illegal leak you said by anyone as Plame was already known to be in the CIA said you.I know most won't bother to read the old thread so let me point out for their benefit that the prosecutor said the reason he could not prove who was the leaker was because people like Libby hindered his prosecution by lying. The facts are clear about what went on and that her name was leaked by the administration for political purposes no matter what you say and honestly I think most will see that you are not credible any longer on the issue as you have spouted so much mis-information on it at this point.

I don't think we're going to get a "crystal clear" conclusion to this mess. The point is that Bush is now directly linked to the cover-up. Before, everything was focused on whether Bush had a hand in the actual leak. A memoir is not exactly a hot smoking gun...but then again.."Game of Shadows" and "Juiced" have been proven correct time and time again about the Baseball mess.

Nixon didn't order the HQ breakin but he did order the coverup. The PUBLIC does NOT stomach presidential coverups of this magnitude.

The only thing I have trouble comprehending is why the Dems in Congress do not AGGRESSIVELY DENY Dubya on every issue and begin the process of impeachment. His deceit and underhandedness is rising to the level of his abysmal track record of incompetence.

Bush is a disgrace.

And as you say at least so far Congress is also a disgrace in shirking its duties to get the crook out of there.

They are afraid to do what "the people" elected them to do. I wish Pelosi would give a speech in Congress promising to follow the campaign promises that she and her colleagues ran their campaigns on. It's not too late for this Congress. I'm sure any Republican Incumbent up for election in '08 will be desperate to do anything to save his/her neck in '08...the climate is ripe to shut this presidential madmen down, isolate him..and get him ready for his place in Obscurityville...

I think the Clinton impeachment nonsense made those in the know realize that it got them nowhere and it lost them the public's trust (even more so).
I don't think either party is going to start any impeachment proceedings any time remotely soon (now or in 10 years) unless the evidence is overwhelming or the public is just screaming for it.
And I do not think either is the case at this time.

If you noticed, everytime somebody resigns from the Bush administration, they do a interview, write a book or open their mouth saying they had nothing to do with all the fuck ups that have been happening.

They are doing this to go on record so when Bush leaves office, they can use this shit as a alibi to get off. There will be a lot of hearings on the Bush camp when they leave office.

Peace.

I wondered about that too - I mean, why not resign and step up and say "I resigned because I couldn't do so-and-so any more. These guys are a bunch of liars and crooks".

Kinda seems pointless to "come clean" after the fact...

cheers,
