Favorite Film Genre

Mainly sci-fi then mysteries, action, adventure, MA, comedies, film-noir, classics, and dramas, in that order, but there are many exceptions.

I don't get what it is about horror movies that people enjoy?
Is it just the adrenaline rush, or is it some kind of sadistic pleasure watching all the ****** gore?
