Eric Adams what's up with you?

When does he resign or step away for a bit? My over/under is 2 weeks - and I'm taking under.

I was surprised to see he was the first NYC mayor to be indicted. NYC is no Chicago!

His appointees have left too. His police commissioner Edward Caban and his general counsel Lisa Zornberg have both resigned. His appointee as schools chancellor David Banks will be retiring at the end of 2024.

I was reading parts of the indictment. Campaign violations of not reporting travel in which he requested upgrades from coach to business class and staying in lavish accommodations related to expensive hotel suites. Almost all of them are with the Turkish government and/or with Turkish businessmen and women. One trip alone came at cost of around $41,000. Overall seven trips, the sum that prosecutors charge are valued at over $120,000. It goes back to the time when he was Brooklyn Borough President. They discussed bribery of foreign officials as well. Very similar to U.S. Supreme Court Associate Justice Clarence Thomas' situation with lavish trips, gifts and accommodations. However, Thomas hasn't been charged while Adams has. Another similarity, he knowingly was falsifying campaign reports and re-categorizing them. Similar to what Former NY Third District Congressman George Santos was doing. Though Santos was in deep because he commingled activities. With Adams, for the most part, he did not disclose them and when he did decide to disclose them he lowered their value considerably.

The most serious charge is wire fraud because it deals with his conversations: text and emails with those government officials, the business people and their fixers. Remember how the FBI confiscated all of his electronic devices. That's a big sticking point and very hard to defend. His lawyers have their work cut out for them in getting these wire fraud charges dropped or reduced.

Let's see. So the charges against Eric Adams were dropped not on its legal merits. Those merits and the rule of law were substantiated. Instead they were dropped because of political reasons? Because of the Biden Administration? Because Adams was critical of the Biden Administration's stance on immigration and the how the former administration allowed immigrants into NYC? That's kind of far-fetched and unbelievable since New York City is, by itself, a sanctuary city. They are going to have more immigrants than most other American cities.

So this (the dropping of all charges) tells me that the current leaders of Trump's Justice Department along with his appointees Bondi, Blanche, and Bove are just as corrupt as this President is. Patel and Gabbard (his two other loyalists) soon to be running the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Office of National Intelligence, respectively, aren't going to help matters at all.

And then the Feds yanked $80 million back from the city. That will leave quite the budget hole to fill. Eric will have some explaining to do to the voters.

Trump’s Border Bully:
“If he (Adams) doesn’t come through, I’ll be back in New York City, and we won’t be sitting on the couch. I’ll be in his office, up his butt, saying, ‘Where the hell is the agreement we came to?’

Despite the denials of any quid pro quo, it certainly sounds and looks like something is happening here.

Blatant corruption, in plain sight. Seven prosecutors resign on ethical and [legal principal] grounds, not wanting to be a part of this dirty deal.
