Elon Musk buys Twitter! Kick or stick?

Yeet or yoink?
Swipe right or swipe left?

I don't come onto the SFW-ish section much. I'm surprised that no one is talking about this. Is Elon Musk going to ruin Twitter? Is Twitter an irredeemable stool pit anyway you look at it? Are you a Musk Rat or Doj Bro or whatever and you're just loving every second of this?

Personally, I think Elon Musk is a classic James Bond villain. Got way too rich way too fast and is intentionally or not going to ruin the world. I think a child with a 2 liter cola and a BB gun would make better decisions. So this is just time again for me to bail on twitter. I got out of Meta apps not too long ago. Now I can cut this one loose.

I don't know as much about Elon Musk as other people do. Why do people resent him so much? What has he done that is unethical or illegal? Did he work hard and sacrifice to become successful or did he connive and steal his way to the top?

Ask an astronom why he doesn't like Elon Musk. He won't tell you about how Musk became so rich, he would tell you about all the Starlink mini-satellites photo-bombing numerous astronomy pictures

Also, Muk might be a great business-man but you don't wanna have him as your boss. You know the phrase "human ressource" ? That's exactly what his employees are to him, they are ressources to be used for a purpose, nothing more. Like energy or tools.

iF whoever has to approve the sale of Twitter to Muskrat (the Twitter Board? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯) has even an inkling of sense beyond wanting to get as rich as fast as possible they would write into the terms of sale that all accounts and account information are to be wiped and all users must sign up anew with new accounts on a rebooted platform. Let's see how much interest Muskrat has in buying a blank slate. It takes years to curate a following on Twitter, everyone else has had to build from the ground up, why should Musk get to cut in line? With $43 billion, seems like a pretty legit competitor for Twitter could be built, and isn't competition what makes Capitalism great?

I agree. I definitely got into Twitter before they required a linked cellular phone number. I did install it on my phone. I believe there are users who are essentially unidentifiable beyond username and IP address. So yes. Resetting all users and requiring other linked accounts would make it harder for users to post against TOS.

And, you know, put in real penalties for hate speech, threats, organizing criminal activity, and misinformation. But I heard a news blurb saying that Musk thinks himself a champion of free speech. So this is not going to happen.

But still, I'm not putting ad money into the pocket of one of our current 3 Hugo Drax's

"Experts" are saying that Elon Musk is destroying Twitter with all the changes he's making.
Buying twitter was a waste of $45 billion. Why would he waste his money and time on Twitter when he has so much to do at SpaceX and Tesla?
He should have cancelled the deal and paid the $1 billion penalty. Even paying $10 billion to get out of the deal would be better than wasting $45 billion.
If Twitter dies, someone should start a new messaging platform and call it Blabber or Yapper and monetize user posts, instead of demanding a user fee.

Musk should change Twitter back to the way it was, and rehire everyone he fired with a pay raise and let them all work from home.
Then he should focus on Tesla & SpaceX, and leave Twitter alone. This will bring back all the advertisers and users.

Twitter's revenue in 2021 was about $5 billion, but they reported a net loss of about $200 million. WTF did they spend $5 billion on?
Some "experts" say Elon was ripped off and that he should have paid at most $10 billion for Twitter.

How Much Is Twitter Worth in 2022? How Much Did Elon Musk Pay To Buy Twitter? - Nov 8, 2022

Hopefully this finally ends all the bullshit narrative that Musk was ever a good business man or was ever really smart. He wasn't. He was just an ass that was born to a rich family, literally lied and faked it through life until he made it, and got really lucky in life by hitching onto the coattails of actual competent people really early on in his career. He was never competent or innovative. Seeing all the dumbass Elon fans have to come to terms with him being a huge dipshit and just all around asshole all along is pretty fun though.

Consider also that not only is Twitter's much needed employees and workforce diving off the sinking ship at astonishing speed, but Twitter is already in very bad financial trouble...at a time when advertisers are leaving in droves...at a time when it's value is going to tank...at a time when Elon already paid way more than it was actually worth in the first place...at a time when his debt from his borrowing to pay for the acquisition is only going to start growing ever faster than Twitter will be able to make money for him, if it ever does.

What will makes this even more funny is how much Tesla's value is tied up in the hype and cult of personal of Musk (and selling carbon credits) and not really in it's actual worth as a business that produces things. That will also take a hit once the perception of Musk takes a hit, and even that's not considering if Musk did stuff that is really stupid like directly tie up his assets in his other businesses into the purchase of Twitter because if he did it could start a chain reaction death spiral for all of his assets in them.

Remember that he has done this while owning it for only a few weeks,...A FEW WEEKS. Holy shit. This could end up being one of the worst business deals in history. If it fails I don't know if I would even consider it a fleecing of Elon. It would be better described as him getting prison raped.

If somehow Musk doesn't turn things around, part of me hopes all the former employees of Twitter star their own virtually same company and run it out of business. Another part of me hopes that somebody like Jack Dorsey, even if I don't like him either, comes along and manages to buy Twitter back for pennies on the dollar from Musk, with what would essentially be Elon's former money because that would be hilarious. Perhaps even more than that though part of me hopes Twitter goes up in flames, as it's become a cancer upon the world with misinformation and conspiracy theories, and it takes Elon with it.

I just feel sorry for innocent people that need Twitter for their livelihood, which the adult industry is among the most notable of them. I hope an alternative comes along for them.
