Edward Snowden on aliens, conspiracy theories and chemtrails

The NSA whistleblower addressed the conspiracies again on an episode of "The Joe Rogan Experience" podcast, released Wednesday, saying "there's no evidence" of aliens and chemtrails and the like.

"I know, Joe, I know you want there to be aliens," Snowden joked to Rogan, the podcast's host. "I know Neil deGrasse Tyson badly wants there to be aliens. And there probably are, right?

"But the idea that we're hiding them -- if we are hiding them -- I had ridiculous access to the networks of the NSA, the CIA, the military, all these groups. I couldn't find anything," he continued. "So if it's hidden, and it could be hidden, it's hidden really damn well, even from people who are on the inside."

Sigh.

To be fair, the man revealed a massive program of surveillance run by the US government and is now living in exile in Moscow as a result. If the US government was keeping secrets about aliens and UFOs in Area 51, surely Snowden would have been the one to find out.

So why are people on the internet so keen to believe in conspiracy theories? That's a question Snowden does have the answer to.

"Everybody wants to believe in conspiracy theories because it helps life make sense," he said on the podcast. "It helps us believe that somebody is in control, that somebody is calling the shots."

For those that want to watch the whole JRE video.

Interesting. That used to be what Religion was for : give life a meaning, provide an explanation to the things we couldn't explain. So one could state that conspiracy theories are a thing because faith is declining. But, among western civilised countries, America is probably one of the most religious one and also the one with the most conspiracy theories and the most people believing them, although they are now spreading mlike wildfire thanks to social networks.

Rogan is a fraud. A. Jones without the bat shit crazy routine.
But you can't figure that out.

"Everybody wants to believe in conspiracy theories because it helps life make sense," he said on the podcast. "It helps us believe that somebody is in control, that somebody is calling the shots."

Pure bullshit.

Yeah nobody is in control. Nobody is making decisions.
There is not ever was a hierarchy of power in this world.
We're all just floating around going through life in a world where everybody has equal say in things.

Meester, meester quite contrary...

Oh of course. Everybody is a fraud. Everybody has hidden secrets. Everybody one day is gonna end up living new lives with a huge bank account because a week ago they pretended to be shot in public.
