There is a fairly big chicken wing festival in Buffalo I've been wanting to go to for a while. They have a huge contest. If I end up going, I'm definitely signing up.

I had three friends when I lived in the village I came from (I had more, but these three are the ones to do woth my bet).

They were son and nephews of the baker in our street, and we once made a bet I could eat a whole chocolate pie, it was called 'Herrentorte' (~Gentlemens's Pie) was about half as big as an original cream pie (Ha ha, not what we call that way, dudes ^^ ) and heavy on chocolate, nuts, and Marzipan. Price: 20 Deutschmarks

I made it about 2 thirds through, then had to give up.

It was worth it - but I learned all you can eat or food contest are not for me

Who woulda thunk that we'd be contending with the Japanese of all people in the eating of hot dogs ! :dunno:
Is it really a "sport" and do they really feature such contests on ESPN ?

Come to think of it, hey fellas, let's have a sunburn contest ! :nanner:
The "winner" has the biggest blisters. The one with the smallest blisters is a rotten egg ! :ban::helpme: :D

I like to take my time and enjoy the taste of food I have infront of me, so no.

These sort's of contests are just a complete waste of a persons time. If you've ever seen video of any of these people eat whilst taking part in these events it almost turns your stomach. Whilst the onlookers cheer them on. What are they cheering? I would think in the modern era, contests where humans compete and eat like animals would be something to be looked down upon, but no.

So someone can eat a particular amount of hotdogs for example in a certain period of time, why is that an acomplishment? It's a small acomplishment on the scale of most other acomplishments, but why is it an acomplishment at all.

It's an accomplishment because...

Well, you see...

Here's the thing...

You have to...

And then there's the...

You know what, BlueBalls? Go fuck yourself. Stop making me think.
