My Dying Bride out of Bradford, England. Nowadays they're more dark melodic metal. Some of my favorites:

A really good song in my opinion, but skip to 2:30 for some an awesome dark evil sounding breakdown: (best if you have good speakers or headphones to really hear that hollow tone in the background)

Their earlier albums from the early 90's were more focused on full on death metal. This is their first album.

Ozzy Osbourne who singing about fearing the devil and a vengeful God is a Christian person and if he was the first heavy metal singer then the heavy metal is a Christian music.

He is not a good example for young people, but none of us is not perfect.
