Dungeons & Dragons the lifestyle of America's out-crowd

LOL That has been around forever... but it never fails to make me laugh. The Summoner Game on PS2 had this in a "Special Features" type thing on the game. It used Diablo type characters if I remember right but I don't think I do. It was funny too.

*magic missiles* awesome. i just ordered my first DnD set. what did i get myself into?

Depends. Is it 4e. Then you are going to be bored out of your mind.

If it is 3.5 or PRPG then you are going to have a lot of fun.

But if you want a really fun game, then grab Scion or Exalted. Exalted is really really good.

Great bump.

Of course, it is only a legend that D&D players were Satan followers. Remember, this is coming from a D&D player: In order to be a follower of the dark lord, one must sacrifice virgins in His name. Hell, if we started sacrificing virgins, there would have been none of us left to play the game!
The defense rests, your honor.

Oh, and put a farting dog under the table, and that would have been my group.

ive heard that 4e is kinda lame but then again i heard its an easy starter to get familiarized with the whole system. given the fact that ive never played and i only have a group of 2 at this time, i have no real choice at the moment but if its a success, trust me, ill be going back to the older versions quick.

i always prefer it old school.

whats exalted like?

4e is really fast and dirty. But I have been playing for about 12 years now. So 4e just felt like an MMO. Which I don't like. The classes did not feel different enough

Exalted is Nothing like D&D. You play someone who has been chosen by the gods of the world and given super powers. It uses "Bucket of D10 system" called storyteller. Every "point" in anything gives you an extra D10 you roll.

It is used in World of Darkness, Exalted, and Scion. So the local game stores never have D10s for sale.

it makes sense they made it fast though. can you take what you learned in 4e and use it to go back to older versions?
