disregard sign. they dont send you to prison for shoplifting.
Oh no ... no desire to down anyone here but I can post PROOF of people who have gone to jail for shoplifting ... and proof of guys who have been "bitch made" in jail for some petty crime they got sent up for ... jail sentencing and assult while inside for some petty crimes does (occasionaly) happen.

jail is not prison. they are two completely different places.
and parole violations dont count.
true...around here, any sentence of up to 5 years is served in county jail...if you are sentenced to more than that, your time is served entirely in state prison...but don't shoplift anyway...I can tell you jail is not a very nice place either

depending on how many times ur cought shoplifting or doing drugs yes they do send you

key word- drugs. thats the ONLY way they send you to prison for shoplifting. remember, shoplifting is anything under a small amount. i believe its 50 bucks or something. i should know, i was arrested twice for shoplifting.
It depends on who you are, and where you are when you get caught. Laws and the ways they are enforced differ from country to country, even from town to town, Cops (or others in positions of power) have been known to do outrageous things.
One never knows when one might get raped in the ass with a flashlight, does one?
