It's been just over ten years since Erika Eleniak burst onto our TV screens as Shauni McClain in the popular TV show Baywatch.

The 41-year-old actress played the female lead for three seasons between 1989 - 2002.

She was known for her fresh-faced, wide eyed blonde beauty and her amazing body squeezed into the iconic red swimsuit.

Day dreamer: Erika Eleniak seemed miles away as she ate lunch with a friend in Studio City, California yesterday


Eleniak has struggled massively with weight issues over the years.

At one point she was severely underweight and was hospitalised because of laxative abuse.

But after leaving Baywatch her battle changed and she piled on the pounds.

In 2006 Eleniak participated in the VH1 reality TV show, Celebrity Fit Club where she lost a total of 30lbs.

She was spotted yesterday enjoying lunch with a friend in Studio City, California.

The actress was dressed casually in sweats and a baseball cap and face was make-up free.

Although Eleniak is no longer the fresh-faced beauty that she was in her thirties, she still has the great bone structure, high cheeks and heavy brows of her youth.

Her carer has been fairly quiet since she gave birth to her daughter, Indyanna in 2006 but she looks set for a bit of a comeback with a couple of movie parts in the works.

Eleniak is slated to appear in two new projects, Buds and Just Me and Jose, both currently in pre-production.

I know I heard some famous chick (Lisa Guerrero?) say on a show once that women start to look rougher than men when they age, but I guess it varies from chick to chick? :dunno: I've seen some stunners that are older, and then of course I've seen some that look like they are chain-smoking, whiskey-sipping gutter trash. :dunno:

I think I'd have more of an issue with the face than I would weight gain. With weight gain women can still be hot, but if wife's face is thrashed it's going to make things more difficult in the sack.

I am being serious. In most cases men do age better naturally then women. When men age they become distinguished, women just get older. All the attractive older women I have seen have had work done. That is why a lot of women are sensitive on aging.
