Donnie Darko... How many of you have seen this seriously amazing film???

a great film, strange but great :glugglug:

I've only seen it once, a few years ago. I thought it was one of the most disturbing films I've seen... and I mean that as a compliment. I also recall thinking about it for days after I'd seen it. Not many movies can affect me so strongly.... and that's about the highest compliment I can give any film.

My good man, if you recall THIS scene...

then,

Here is the impossibly-and-un-buyable-hard-to-find music that goes with it... It's also at the end credits. Lemme know what you think. :)

I've seen the movie and I didn't like it at all. I don't know what was wrong with it, i think the genre just doesn't interest me at all. The only thing that made me happy was the end. :)

Hehe, I know a lot of people who thought the same! I like it though. Even if I don't understand a movie, doesn't mean I don't admire it. Just like Parker, I too found myself thinking about Donnie Darko for days afterwards and it was interesting hearing what everyone else got from the movie. It's definitely very special.

Got that stashed away on DVD somewhere (not with the porn!) and keep meaning to watch it - seems a bit gothic but i'll give it a go

Re: the music...

Yes, I do recall it now. The mood of the piece fits the movie very nicely.

By the way, I recently read an article that spoke of a Director's Cut being released. I don't know any of the details, such as the release date or the changes made, but if anybody's interested in digging up the info I'm sure it's out there.

Click and discuss. :)

PS... It's an AMAZING FILM...

Naysayers, fuck off :D

Ever think of going into politics, you'd be great in the senate. "Lets take a public opinion poll and ignore the negative"

To be honest I didn't take to it. Not *the* worst movie I've ever seen but I wouldn't watch it again :dunno:
I'll give them credit though, they did a decent bit for only a $4,000,000 budget. I've seen worse movied that cost £50,000,000 and more

anobody

Banned
it was alright, but i hought the twist and ending were a bit obvious

what i want to know is how it suddenyl became cult classic overnight

in UK, it came out, did shit and vanished

then, its suddenly being re released along with the Mad World single and everyones after it all at once

its the kind f film id buy on a 3 for 20 quid offer, not something id set out to own on release day

Ace Bandage

The one and only.
does this movie have a evil easter bunny

Yes, that's Frank. He's the one who leads Donnie out of the house before the engine falls on it. He plays an important role in the film. Later, Elizabeth's boyfriend wears the rabbit suit on Halloween.

A better question is why are you bumping really old threads?

damn a 6 year resurrection (i know i'm rounding up)...good job using the search function eeyoresfan...and yes i like this movie, it's good times

great flick. Awesome.

two of the best things about the movie are "The Killing Moon" (echo & the Bunnymen) and Patrick Swayze...

bad ass flick.
