Donald "I would not be a president who took vacations" takes a 3 weeks vacation

Low Energy Man Announces Three Weeks Vacation

President Donald Trump recently called the White House a dump, and maybe that is why he is taking an almost three week vacation from “the swamp.”

The president will begin his first “official” vacation since taking office Friday by heading to his private golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey. According to the Associated Press, the reason behind the vacation may be because the White House West Wing needs to replace their 27-year-old heating and cooling system, which would require all residents to vacate during that work.

The planned 17-day-vacation is receiving a lot of attention because of Trump’s past remarks on vacations
. Most recently he told GOP senators that they shouldn’t take an August recess and “we shouldn’t leave town” until they fix the health care system, something that has not happened yet. (And seems increasingly unlikely after the implosion of the Senate’s latest effort to repeal Obamacare.)

While on the campaign trail, Trump was quoted saying,” I would rarely leave the White House because there’s so much work to be done. I would not be a president who took vacations. I would not be a president that takes time off. You don’t have time to take time off.”

Although this is his first official vacation, Trump has spent 43 of his 193 days in office at one of his 17 golf courses. At this time in his Presidency, President Barack Obama had only played 11 rounds of golf, while Trump has played 21. Trump routinely trashed Obama for how much he golfed and took vacations while in office.

Trump said "We"re gonna win so much, you'll be tired of winning". He did not won anything since he's been in office but he's still tired. I guess all that tweeting got him exhausted...

It is 17 days and they are completely revamping the White House heating and air system during that time.

It will be a little less "dumpy" when he returns.

Another point, when Melania takes one of those Air Force One Designate 747's over to Europe,Slovenia with about 10 of Barron's classmates and her mom for about 15 days on the taxpayer dime like Moochelle did, get back to us.

I imagine the White House is a dump compared to what he's used to and air force one is a hoopty. But he made the sacrifice for US, the American people.

Thank you, Mr. President.

Jo, it sounds like you are talking out of both sides of your mouth. I've always said that Presidents deserve their "time off". Forget about the rhetoric. Both work during their vacations. They can be reached at any given moment. Congress spends way more days away from Washington. Those days there are not being productive. Make them do some overtime to fix shit. Create a bill to sign and fax it to NJ.

How much time do Euros spend on holiday in a year? Don't bother answering that. We've been through that issue with USA 2 weeks vs your... how many weeks? Be consistent with your arguments.

Oh, come on bob! You know those prissy Euros spend more time "on holiday" than they do working.

My idea of a vacation is to spend a couple of days on my back porch dodging the ricochet from the armadillos I'm shooting at in my tomato field.

I couldn't help it. Had to look it up. Here's the Wiki version of French paid leave.

5 weeks (30 days with Saturdays, but not Sundays counted as holidays) plus up to 22 days of RTT (Réduction du Temps de Travail, English: Reduction of Working Time) for the employees that choose to work more than 35 hours per week - the "limit" is 39 per week, further additional hours are compensated in almost all the cases by money and not by additional leave hours. Bonus days off are given to people who take a part of their annual leave outside summer (3 days grant 1 bonus day off, 6 days grant 2 bonus days off). Combining all these rules, in a few public offices and in a few companies like Orange, the resulting total, for certain employees, might be of 9.5 paid vacation weeks (5 weeks of vacation + 4 weeks of RTT + 0.5 week of bonus days off). Furthermore, there are 11 paid public holidays.

Government mandating that working people don't work. Add the tax burdens and yea, France is the place I want to set up business.
