Do you care about people?

I'm not talking about friends and loved ones of course, just random people you come across. I can't honestly say that I do. There's an apathy or deadness inside where I really don't give a shit, which is why I could never be in the military, be a police officer or a fire fighter etc. I just don't care enough about other people to risk my life for them. Yet I have helped people in need in the past but not because I care but out of a sense that "it's the right thing to do." If that makes any sense.

After mass this afternoon my mother and I stopped by a park near St Anne's and gave cold bottled water to homeless people. I've volunteered for years with Special Olympics and have been a lay minister for a youth group. I spent a year in Brazil painting murals and provided child care at a St Vincent de Paul Mission school. So, yes?

I am a social worlker, and I have done honorary work for half my life.I am coming around from the other side:

I learned recently that you got to care and love yourself first. But not caring about strangers is not really caring about the world, ahich ultimately means, not caring about yourself.

I'll look at this as a "yes" or "no" question checking off Number B for "no". I'm no more or not much more indifferent and/or two-faced than those around me out here anyway. Part of my two-faceness is around my wife from The Philippines when I pretend to have compassion for others like she actually does. I'm two-face and she's too-nice so we have that in common. I'm trying to fight off her good influence on me. My balls are so floaty it took the sociopathic reflexion outta my eyes. DAMMIT!

It may sound corny but I make a habit of trying to commit random acts of kindness for strangers on a regular basis. To me, there's nothing greater you can do than to perform a selfless act that helps others. Very satisfying to the soul. I care very much about people in general.

Tough one. I donate whenever any of my friends do anything charitable and plaster their "Just Giving" on their social networks, but that's far more to do with me wanting to look charitable rather than actually giving a shit. I once overheard a girl on the train in tears on the phone to her mother saying she had no credit to let her mother know she was safely at the train station and then once she got to the station, no money to get her ticket to the airport (she had had her wallet stolen). I walked down the carriage and gave her change for the phone box for when she got in, then paid for her train ticket to the airport. I suppose subconsciously I was still helping her so I could tell all my friends what a selfless act of kindness I'd done. But then, I'm always dropping money in for the moneybox-shaking do-gooders in the street and I never tell anyone about that.

Prior to becoming a cam model I worked as a CNA (certified nurses assistant) for a few years. I cared for everyone of my patients as if they were my own family. When it comes to homeless people that i see my heart breaks because there isn't too much I can do and its been reported in my local news of people pretending to be homeless. Its sad and makes me suspicious that someone could be taking advantage of my kindness. However, I still on occasion help out when I have cash on me:) A very thought provoking question.

All of except 4 of the physical altercations I've been involved in was because of someone else being in trouble. After leaving the military, I had a sick feeling of what has happened/happening because of the "leaders" of some countries have a blind eye to human rights abuses. I also have driven for hospitals when it snows and there is a request for 4 wheel drive vehicles. I also have been a driver for an AIDS clinic years ago. It's not so much that I about people. It's just that I think what if it's my mom, sister, etc. and if they were in need.

as a duty we should care for one another without expectation, even if they don't care back (it's how a real human society is supposed to be) (I think)

I care about random people, as long as they show me respect and are decent human beings. But on the other hand, there are also a lot of people out there that just basically suck dick and are complete assholes. So yeah, for me personally ....it all depends on the person, random or not.

This brings to mind, Animus ... when in crawling bumper to bumper traffic on the freeway and come up on an On Ramp or especially anywhere where 2 lanes merge, are you likely to feel good and let in at least 1 vehicle? Or are you more likely to think, "Fuck it. Let someone behind me let you in."

I don't have a problem letting people in if they're following the normal course of things. The ones I do have a problem with and will NOT let in are those who think their time is more important than everyone else's and they try to beat the system. They'll do whatever they can get away with so as to get to the absolute front of the line before then wanting some Sap to have mercy on them and let them in. They think they're above having to take their place at the back of the line like most everyone else did.
