Representative Timothy Huelscamp (R-KS) says the Department of Homeland Security refuses to provide answers to Congress on a number of issues, one of which includes the large ammunition purchases made by the DHS.

even at a dollar a round that's like hundreds of millions of dollars right?
or that they bought 2700 of those anti mine vehicles at 600 grand each?
Or spent 50 million on new uniforms?
if so ok. if not then you should care, it was your tax money, the tax money that obama and the dems are incessantly saying that they need more of that bought them.
All that money could have helped sick kids, found a cure for lupus or something. Or just stayed in the pockets of those who earned it to stimulate the hell out of the economy, create jobs and happiness and ultimately create more revenue for the GOV that Obamas always saying he needs.

get honest with yourself already. here the PREZ is going around saying that cutting less than 1% of the federal budget is going to destroy the economy and people will suffer, planes will crash in mid air, houses will burn, ect.....and his minions will believe and back him up 100% on that, then they see this kind of spending and crack jokes about it.
it's not really that funny.
and thats not even mentioning the fact as to the question " why do they need all this firepower?".
Are they expecting and invasion or a revolution?

I want to see proof that these allegations are real. I'm well on the record in my belief that DHS and TSA should be immediately abolished. But hysteria and dubious allegations aren't going to get us there.

In terms of the bullet purchase, if it's real, I'm OK with it. There was a time when the Right-wing supported law enforcement. And as long as we're saddled with these ridiculous agencies, I want their personel to be as well trained as we can make them. Among other things, that means firearms training. Properly stored ammunition has a shelf-life of decades. If we're going to use it anyway, and we can get bulk discounts on large purchases, then it's a proper expenditure of taxpayer money. Something else that the Right-wing claims to support.
