Since, we have a Hip-Hop thread already, I want to do a Dance Music thread, for Dance Music lovers just like myself. I'm such a big fan of Basement Jaxx, I have about 70 songs that I like by them, or somewhere around there. I love Fatboy Slim, M.I.A., Felix Da Housecat, Daft Punk, Deep Dish, Audio Bullys, and much more etc.

Funkerman, Kavinsky, David Guetta and Groove Coverage.

what the fuck you lookin at?
does freestyle count?

Like George Lamond, Stevie B, Jocelyn Enriquez, Lisette Melendez to name a few. I may be a big metal fan, but I do like freestyle. It makes for some god damn good driving music! Mostly cause of the beat, and its harmonic as well.

cool! Cause on your list of choices for the poll I don't like any of it! No offense.

At least its not rap! Any other style of music I can appreciate as at the very least being music with some sort of talent tied to it...somehow! Rap is just a fuckin joke!

I dig House, especially funky Chicago House, I'll snap on the decks. I also enjoy Progressive House, Tribal, and Minimal. Detroit Techno is da bomb.

I like techno and sometimes Drum & Bass and Pop/Europop.

I like Fluke and Junkie XL as my techno faves and Propellerheads as my Drum & Bass fave.

I like some of Fatboy Slim like Rockafella Skank and the only thing I've ever heard from Basement Jaxx was "Where's Your Head At" and I like that too. Oh and of course I like Aqua.

I can agree with you, they're the best. I can see you're from Chicago, have you ever heard of DJ Mike Steel/Green Velvet ??? They used to be on Q101 Sonicboom in Chicago.

Oh yes, decided in this thread, we can accept garage music. Since, that's also part of dance too, I've forgot about that.

I remember Q101, I'm from the chicago area originally. What is this Sonicboom you speak of? Did Q101 change formats again? or was it a show? Last I knew they played alternative, not my cup of tea. B96 played freestyle back in the 90's, thats how I got into it in the first place.

you forgot new wave, Industrial, EBM, Noize, dark wave, synth pop, happy hardkore...

haha. dude, I don't know what any of those are either, just along with the top list, but apparently, I'm informed, that they are all styles of music.

i'm with you BBB, if it's made using a computer program and/or a keyboard, then it's techno.

Sonicboom used to come around at 10pm on Saturdays, they don't come on radio anymore, they had the coolest DJS, mine personally favorite had to be: DJ Mike Steel, Green Velvet, DJ Rap, DJ Little Louie Vega. They had some really cool remixes, especially the one with Green Velvet, when he mixes Rock N Roll.

Yes. I know them.

Justin Long, Derrick Carter, Miles Maeda, Terry Mullan, Tommy Sunshine are good friends of mine. My DJ peeps are everywhere around the globe.

Ok, we can add that too in this thread. It's official!

I like the host of the show, Joey. He would always bring some good discussions about the city of Chicago, not even from Chicago. I'm from Indiana.

I personally would categorize every genre you listed as Electronica. Even early disco songs by artists like Giorgio Moroder and Boney M is Electronica, except that it is often referred to as the beginning of modern dance music. Now you have genres and sub-genres of dance music.
