Yeah, I was going to say, I've never had an issue getting things into iTunes. I've even converted old movies from VHS to DVD, loaded them onto my computer and then put them into iTunes and then onto my iPod Touch. Hell, I've even got some grainy porn movies from the 80's on mine (just to see if I could do it). And believe me, I am NOT a computer whiz kid. There will be glitches with anything. And iTunes is not my favorite piece of software. But I've dealt with
much more complicated software than that. Oh yeah, the VLC Player is excellent - I got it about a year ago. But there was some sort of spat and now I don't know if it's still available in the App Store. Oh, not for doing conversions, but if you like music and sometimes hear a song, but don't know the title (but would like to get the song as a download), get Sound Hound. It's probably my favorite, free (non business) app ever!
But I did see a question on the Apple Support Community forum where another person had something similar happen to him (didn't work and then it did work). Not that people on FreeOnes aren't helpful
D), but the Apple forum will probably get you the answer you're looking for.

And sure, you could go with some other brand of tablet. But I'd do a comprehensive search and see what the return rates are for the other brands of tablets. And then I'd ask why those return rates are typically much higher (and the satisfactions rates typically lower) than they are for iPads. Get good, objective data, and not just anecdotal stories or opinions. But at the end of the day,
you have to get what works for your needs. Don't just go by brand. I've had my iPod Touch 64 gig for almost two years and it's been trouble free. I wouldn't trade it for anything. It's the most useful (and easy to use) consumer device that I've bought in many, many years. But now... your mileage may vary.
Good luck!
