My favorites are those ''Protect my online ID'' and Personalize your e-mail address turds ... why not just build it into the system instead of charging a monthly subscription rate for it?

:bowdown: My maleware had stopped Spybot, Malwarebytes and Avira from working. This seems to have got rid of it. At the moment my google links are no longer being diverted so let's hope it's gone. Thanks.

Glad it worked. It's the first thing used in my household whenever there's suspected maleware.

And I wasn't calling TaylorVixenFan a pain in the ass...it's the maleware/trojan that's a royal pain.

I got that damned thing badly once when it started masquerading as my "real" anti-virus - then I got it again not so badly last night - I'm going to start paying attention when my anti-virus tells me certain sites are dangerous.

its not immunity keeping them generally safe, its the fact most people prefer windows pcs. the malware out there (viri, spyware, etc) are mostly all aimed at pc users since thats way more than the majority of computer users.

its like using firefox in lieu of internet explorer. most malware are targered at IE users since most people have that which makes sense since its stock on a windows pc. firefox is an alternative browser but as it gains popularity, you will see more and more bad stuff getting through. its already happening.

so mac users, enjoy it while you can. as they gain more popularity, the creates of all malware will start focusing their attention to those machines as well.

so i guess the best thing to do is to hope people continue choosing pcs over mac for you mac people.

System Tool? Yeah, that's a good one. Whoever came up with that one is especially sharp. Much respect to whoever crafted that gem. :hatsoff: Course, I'd tie him naked to an ant hill and pour honey on his balls, but he would still be one smart eunuch.

From what I've read, some people actually bend over and send these crooks the ********* money. And within a few weeks or months, they come back and get you again. Cause now, they've pretty much got control of your system.

When I got it, it wouldn't let me do anything that would defeat it. So I just saved all the files that I could on a thumbdrive and dumped the OS.

Damn I just got this, it's not letting me run any of my anti-virus software or download any new ones, any way of getting rid of it without dumping my OS :dunno:

That's what I had to do, to make sure I had all my files backed up... before dumping the OS and doing a reload.

I played with it (for a few hours!!!) and then called the girl who has been taking care of my personal computers for several years and she said there were (long & complicated) ways to ******* System Tool. But there are several variations of this malware/virus. And there's no guarantee that it wouldn't reemerge. So I just went into safe mode and moved everything that I could... and then took a dump.

I'm not English, but I did scream ****** Hell!!!!!! when she told me that. :flame:

Yeah I did, the first few times i couldn't connect to the net so was still unable to download the virus software but after the 4th - 5th attempt i was able to download and run malwarebyte, spybot and hitman pro and now i've restarted normally haven't noticed the virus yet. It was terrible affecting EVERY command and turned my screensaver blue and when i restarted my pc it sounded like it was gonna blow!

It seems gone for now but that System Tool is a real bastard, pretending to be your friend by offering to remove the very viruses it implanted

Yep, Spybot normally finds a lot of things for me. There's also Avira, Malewarebyte and a good one Petra recommended http://www.surfright.nl/en which stopped all my google links being redirected (although that virus has now returned after System Tool done me over)
