Won't be too long before it's implemented in "democratic" countries, but it will be very subtle so no one notices it's happening.

The NSA and other government agencies around the world are spying on everything we do online.
Anything with an RFID, cellphones, or any wifi-bluetooth-2G-3G-4G-5G device, can be used to track our movement or spy on us covertly using the mic or camera on the device, especially cellphones, tablets and laptops.
There are many covert "social engineering" programs being conducted by governments and other self interest criminal organizations in America, Canada, and other "democracies".
One these social engineering programs involve coercing dentists to implant RFID's in people's "of interest" teeth or jaw so they can be tracked.
The corruption to do this is a given, power is always corrupt, there has never been a government, corporation, institution or any organization that wasn't corrupt to some degree. Human emotions, primarily greed, guarantees that power is always corrupt, always.
The technology to manipulate and control people has existed for decades, and is being abused at a greater rate every year.

MP ? Is that you ?

Seriously, you really think democratic countries are gonna slowly implement the Chinese social security system ? That kind of things can only happen in a country with no checks and balance, no separation of powers, no free press, no political opposition, in a one party system in which those who could voice their concerns are silenced by the governent and in which whistle blowers are executed or put behind bars...

Now that you mention it...

So it seems the US doesn't really matches th kind of countries in which that kind of things couldn't be implemented, particulary under Trump, who is the kind of leader who like the go after whistle blowers, after the press and to put his political opponents in jail...

Then why did the NSA and Clapper have to lie?
They could have openly told everyone from the start that they were recording everyone's phone calls and everything we did on the internet for our protection against terrorists.
If the NSA had been honest with us no one would mind having all their phone calls and internet use recorded, because it was for a good cause and would never be abused.

Youy really think that if Clapper had come on TV t ahnounce that the NSA was recording US citizens phonecalls, people would have agreed ? You must be out of your mind...

the NSA is an intelligence agency their prupose is to gather intelligence, not to spread it. The very prupose of intelligence agencies is to lie to people

How China Tracks Everyone | VICE on HBO

Rey C.

Racing is life... anything else is just waiting.
Maybe in the West it will be done privately

Bingo! Bongo! Bango! This man has it!

It will be and is already being done by Facebook, Google, Amazon, Dell/HP/Lenovo, Samsung/LG/Tivo, Ford/GM/FCA/Mercedes/Honda, etc... and once Timmy Cook is out of the picture (if not before), Apple. What do you always have in your pocket now days? What are you increasingly wearing on your wrist? What's in your car (that you probably weren't aware of)? Are you enjoying that new Ring or Nest doorbell that you got for Christmas? Did you get an Amazon Echo or a Facebook Portal? Do you like your new Tivo flat screen TV? Every one of these devices can track you, record your conversations and "see" you in some form or fashion.

"But, but, but... they would never turn that information over to the government." Yeah, course not. But even if they wouldn't (and they all would), if some teenage Indian hacker, who lives in a two room shack with sewage running beside it, can break into these "secure" databases and steal identities, etc., does anybody really think that it would that big of a challenge for some government spook to gain FULL access to any and all of these systems?

I've read the book several times, saw the movie and went to the play. Now I'm just living it. Only difference is, in the book, there was only one unscrupulous party - we've got two.
