Champions league final 2012

Bayern Munich 2-1 Chelsea

I hope Bayern win it, since I **** Chelsea. With no Messi or Ronaldo, it's a chance for players like Robben, Ribéry and Neuer to shine

It's not the final I thought would happen or would like to see but hopefully it will be a good match

Bayern should win.

Chelsea 1-0 Bayern

Everyoe says Bayern will win, they MUST win (because the game's set in their home stadium, because they can't afford a 2nd blank season in a row) nobody thinks Chelsea Could win but snce Vilas-Boas has been fired and De Matteo had been appionted head-coach, they are doing pretty good, much better.

I hope to be wrong but I think Chelsea wil win.

Excuse my profanity! FUCK YEAH!

Knew it :(, after Byern missed all the chances. I really despise Chelsea, the English Rangers as they are known as.
Worst team ever to win the champions league

I also **** the anti football that they played, trying to defend and capitalize on the mistakes.
Chelsea are a horrible team

I bet the media here go on about it for months now as well. I bet the media will say, England will win the Euros now.

A team who plays anti football is now on par with Celtic's Lisbon Lions, disgusting to think about

This is why I fucking love football, one of the thing why Football is the most popular sport in the world : totally unpredictable things happen. Many times.
This game illustrates it perfectly :
-From the beginning of the competition, everyone thought the final would be FC Barcelona VS Real Madrid. And still neiother of these two team qualified for the final
-Everyone thought Bayern would win. Chelsean won.
-All game long Bayern was on the offensive and Chelsea was defending. 84' minutes : Muller scores for Bayern. 6 minutes minutes before the end of the game. Bayern 1-0 Chelsea. Everyone thought Bayern won. Chelsea would have to attack, there would have more oppotunities for Bayern Some even thought Bayern could score one more goal. 88' : Drogba, totally exhausted, scores for Chelsea. Bayern 1-1Chelsea
-Comes the extra-time. ******* tackle on Ribery from Drogba, penalty for Bayern. Robben takes it, Cech catch it.
-Comes the penalty shoot-out. Everyone thinks that Cech is on fire, that nothing can happen to him. He's close to stop the 3 first penalties but they still go in. Seems like his luck is gone. Neuer catche the shot from Chelsea's first shooter, Mata. Seems like Bayern is gonna win. 4th shooter fro Bayern : Olic. Cech catch it ! Schweinstiger misses his shoot, Chelsea is the winner.

This is why I love Football : sometimes, it can be totally unpredictable, nothing is never 100% sure. The game's not over 'til the referee's final whistle, 'til there, anything can happen.

I was flipping between this game and an NBA playoff game (yes, I'm American). Great effort by both teams, Chelsea and Munich. It seemed fitting that it would come down to a close shootout at the end. Congrats to Chelsea. :hatsoff:

One thing I noticed, though, at the end. When Chelsea players were taking turns raising the trophy in victory, the camera showed a Bayern Munich player sitting on the field and watching the celebration (understandably unhappy).
I'm still learning about the sport. Is this normal in football, for the losing team to remain on the field? There's no way I'd be able to sit and watch the other team celebrate. It seems the reasonable thing to do would be to head to the locker room and just let the winners have their moment.

Actually I came here to say just about the opposite. The game was one of the few things on television today (I don't get a lot of channels to watch and for some reason it was on television over here)and I had the game on it as I ****** by in and out of the room over the day. It pretty much illustrates some, of the very many, flaws of soccer and a lot of why a lot of Americans **** the sport, and just confirmed that much more to me why it isn't worth watching.

The fact that one team and totally...TOTALLY outplay the other and still have things like this happen where they can lose often irritates me to no end. Sure, things like that can happen in almost any sport, but they are very extreme rarities and not just slightly unlikely outcomes like in soccer due to the way the sport is played and the low scoring. Sure in other sports a lucky bounce here or there will often be the difference, but that's also in games where teams are playing up to each others' skill level and being each others' equal, and even then it's rare. The fact one team can be on it's heels in borderline semi-desperation most of the game and can be able to use a strategy to hope to get one or two lucky breaks while it's very hard for any team to score well...ever in the sport, and use that strategy to win seems asinine to me. It seems more like a sport that's designed where teams don't assert their dominance on another team or even try to if playing roughly equal levels of competition, but where each team just plays hoping to get a lucky break or for the other team to make a big mistake. I don't see the appeal of it, and to me it seem contrary to what the nature of competition in sports should be about. Sure there also is randomness, but then again if that's what makes a sport exciting they might as well just pick straws or flip a coin at the start to see who is going to win and save everybody the trouble of sitting thought it.

It also illustrates how boring the sport is to us. I literally when out and did other things and only watched parts here and there of it for most of the first 75% of the game, came back and noticed nobody scored, and felt as if I absolutely hadn't miss anything worth watching, and the sad truth is I was probably right. I don't feel that way often watching any other sport, even one where the score might be low at the time.

larss

I'm watching some specialist videos
Chelsea's win means that Totteringham do no get to play in the Champions League next season, unlike Arsenal who will play for the 15th consecutive year, having qualified every season since 1998/99. It's about bloody time we won it - we should have enough practice.

Wow ! I thought you americans like stories with underdogs winning over champs, kinda like Rocky. Don't you ?

Actually, the game itself was quite boring 'til the 1st goal...

It often happens when the final ends with the penalty kicks. The guys are physically, mentaly, psychologicaly and emotionaly exhausted, they don't have the strength to do anthing else but sit on the pitch and watch the winners celebrating, thinking they've been so close from making it.
Sometimes one or two player from the winning team are friends with one or two from the loser team and they try to comfort them. At least, I've never seen one of the losers trying to mes around and ruin ther winner's celebration.
