I know this isn't the thread, but I'm surprised there was no mention that I saw, of the 3 gloves off brawls IN THE FIRST NINE SECONDS of the hockey match up, between the USA and Canada. I think the players may have even planned it, to fire up the crowds.

Totally. Let off some steam & like you said, get the crowds into the spirit.

That being said, I think this is the first time in history that Americans heard their anthem being booed and were like "Yeah, that's fair".

He'd never go anywhere where he knows he'll be booed. His ego couldn't handle it.

As for the team USA's comments - we're getting into pure trolling territory now. We're talking teenage chatroom-level discourse.

I guess it says something that both countries are comfortable enough to throw jabs like this and not worry about an actual war breaking out.
