Including this year he has 245 goals in 355 games, which is an average of 56.59 per every 82 games. He's only 24, so if you assume he plays until he is 40 and that he's played about 40% of the season schedule this year, he's on pace for a whopping 1127 goals. Now obviously he isn't going to put up 56 or 57 every year, especially later in his career, you have to figure he'll be in his prime for another 7 or 8 seasons. and if he nets his average, that's 700 goals by the time he's 32. If he only scored 30 from then on out, it would take him under 7 years to reach that accomplishment, and I'd have to figure he'd score more than 30 a year in his early 30s.
So. Could he do it? He is certainly on pace for it, but can he maintain that level of play? Will injuries play a factor in his career? Hmmm??? Gretzky has 894 goals btw.
