I am as pro military as you can get, but what the Marine Corps did to thousands of families and the Marines that served our country by knowingly dumping toxins into the ******** water is one of the biggest tragedies and scandals in the history of our country. What pisses me off is that Congress wants to investigate Benghazi that happened months ago while dragging their feet insuring that the civilian workers , Marines and their families go on for years without the answers they richly deserve. The contamination started in 1953 and was discovered in the early 80's when the wells were shut down.
The Marine Corps has been trying to cover this up and hoped it would go away. They have even cited the Feres Doctrine to try and throw out many lawsuits against the Department Of the Navy. A court martial should be convened and every one of the Marine brass that are still alive should be dragged in front of it kicking and screaming if necessary. President Obama signed into law the Caring For Camp Lejeune Families Act of 2012 last year and will give healthcare to the veterans and families afflicted (but only with a few specific ailments) but the VA are dragging their feet processing the claims and in the meantime Marines and their families are dying and suffering.
There is a extraordinary number of Marines that suffer from male breast cancer and all served at Lejeune . Male breast cancer does happen but not in the numbers that it has happened for those that served at Camp Lejeune. It was discovered 30 years ago yet people are still waiting for the Department Of The Navy to compensate them and stop stonewalling their benefit claims. Congress has held a few hearings but you do not see the outrage from our lawmakers as you do with issues that can score them political points and it sickens me.
End of rant.
