I dislike his music, but I do like him. I'm Canadian and went to school close to where he grew up and remember seeing him about..err...maybe five years ago now, singing in Stratford ON on the main strip there. I thought he was a cute kid, and wondered why he was panhandling and where his parents were lol but he was talented then and its nice to see something successful come outta Canada and more importantly, something thats not trashy *cough*AvrilNickleback*cough*
He seems like a good kid, hopefully he doesn't mess it up and turn to the stupid Hollywood club/drug scene like most celebrities do.

Record exec - "Perfect. Find a cute little kid, have my cash cow...I mean Usher produce his music and market the fuck out of him"

12 year old girls have an abundance of artists to choose from prior to Bieber hitting the scene- Miley Cyrus, Jonas Bro's, Taylor Swift etc. And sorry, but thats the way the world works when it comes to music. Artists are signed, crap music is created and its whored out to the world. The way its been for decades. I don't like his music either, but there is no denying that he is talented and holds himself with more class than most artists his age. Slutty Cyrus didn't get her nickname for nothing!
I can deny he is talented. Because he isn't. If he wasn't "cute", he'd be a regular kid in grade school. Probably getting beat up.

Well then thats a matter of opinion. IMO, he CAN sing. I'm sure that'll be over once his voice changes, but for right now...he does sound good. And he always sings live and never lipsynchs...which in this day and age...I have to give him props for. But again, anything in the "artistic" realm of entertainment is going to be judged differently so its all a matter of opinion!

No, the last decade is everything that's wrong with music. This kid is just flames to the fire, he ain't the kindling.
I tried to hate him when the American media cabal FORCED me to know who he is about a month ago, but he's just some little dorky kid singing shitty music to stupid little girls. We've seen this a thousand times before.
I saw a Super Soaker commercial with a "rock" song that aped Fallout Boy to the T. THAT is what's wrong with music. The fact that today's kid/teen thinks that generic rock is supposed to sound like Fallout Boy. The last decade's worth of popular rock should have come with a pillow to bite down on.
