I expect Rocky Horror to win based on popularity but I feel Phantom Of The Paradise is the better film. It has more elements of Horror and I preferred its more Rock 'n' Roll type soundtrack. William Finley played an outstanding updated Phantom. I liked the outfit with helmet they gave him. Great evil cackling laugh also. Jessica Harper did a nice job playing Phoenix. Her singing voice was good too. Paul Williams was the evil, creative mastermind putting in an effective portrayal of Swan. Brian DePalma used some great split-screened shots that gave extra layers to the plot. The overall direction helped make this a great film.
