Best Comic Book Movie(s) To Date?

I saw in a previous thread where the Green Lantern trailer was released and yes, it sucks big-time. GL looks VERY gay in that lantern suit and he comes off kind of goofy like a SNL comedian too. However, there are other comic book adaptation movies that delivered in more ways than a million. My personal favorites are the Iron Man series and the Dark Knight series. Jon Favoreau and Christopher Nolan deliver the exact essence of both superheros down to the smallest detail. Wolverine was great as well too, however they dropped the ball on the Gambit/Remy Lebeau character. So then, which of these comic book flicks do you guys is the best to date?

Damn, I didn't realize that this was a multiple choice poll. I probably have most (not all) of the comic movies in my collection and I like quite a bit of them. The top 5 would be:

The Dark Knight
Superman the Movie
Spider-Man 2
Iron Man
The Crow

Others I thoroughly enjoyed were Watchmen, the first two X-Men movies, the first two Blade movies, the two Tim Burton Batman movies, Batman Begins, The Incredible Hulk, and Spider-Man.

I know the OP is obligated to list all the adaptations in the poll, but the bottom three have no place in the "best comic book movie" category.

The Rocketeer
A History of Violence
Spider-Man 2
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 1990
Batman 1989
The Dark Knight
Akira

I really liked the first spiderman...Batman still rocks though. Iron man is alright. X-men series was also awesome.

Oops. What I meant was Spiderman, The Hulk and X-Men were awesome in comic book form and I used to love the cartoon series. But most were pretty ordinary - except for Hellboy. I loved both of those.

Batman (1989) is hands down the best comic book movie... PERIOD. I think people have forgotten just how good the movie was. Here are the reasons:

1. Tim Burton's Gotham City: There is something to be said about the city's vision as put on display by Burton. It's not Chicago, as is so POORLY disguised in Dark Knight, rather it is a timeless, dark metropolis as it should be. Brilliantly laid out.

2: Jack Nicholson as Joker: Jack is most true as Joker (a hybrid of 60's TV show Joker and DK comic version). Better (yes, BETTER) than Ledgers adaptation because he is a lot more comical. The Joker is known for clownish gadgets and cynical humor with deadly punchlines... Jack executes.

3: Hottest Love Interest: Kim Basinger as Vickie Vail in that form fitting black dress. Do I have to split screen it with Maggie Gyllenhaal??? Alright then.

4: Easy To Follow: The story has a specific start and end. It gives a brief backstory, and most importantly, didn't leave my mom confused and pouring questions in my ear. Kept the story simple, and everything else complex!

X-Men Origins would fall into the X-Men category.

Though I do like Spider-Man 1-2, X-Men, Punisher I really enjoyed.

Blade I and II. Original Batman and Batman Returns. League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. Hellboy I and II. Spawn. TMNT from 1989.

Those are all I can think of right now.

I did forget Sin City. And of course 300! How could I forget those? :(

Damn, I forgot about 300 and Sin City too. As well as 30 Days of Night. Hell, I have so many comic films I can't remember them all off the top of my head. I'm bound to forget a lot. I should just write the whole list.

For me it was either the watchmen or the dark knight. I picked the dark knight, mainly because of the jokers awesome role in it.
