Beauty is in the eyes of beholder

First I'm going to say that if you came here for pictures of beautiful women, sorry but OP has none of them. Ok, so I was sitting in my sauna with some relaxing temperature, having some beer and these random thoughts start to form in my head. This thread is about one of those tipsy moments and when my stupidity and creativity collides and birth to a new highly flawed world changing bootleg theories or other retarded questions are born.

Everyone knows saying "Beauty is in the eyes of beholder", but where does this really come? We all like some eye candy and we would lie if we said otherwise. We also like things that look fresh and healthy, we don't buy flowers that are already withered. When it comes to female beauty, majority of the men would choose some similar traits like nice smooth skin which can be considered as common interest in beauty, but what about the rest of features?

When I look at woman who I do not consider very hot, I might think at first, that not my type. But if I spend more time watching, she starts to somehow look prettier. Maybe subconsciously we start to see hidden beauty when we take a closer look, maybe it's something opposite and instead we try to ignore ugly parts that are distracting or maybe it's just third eye doing thinking?

Some time ago I saw yet again another couple who looked very similar to each other. This is sometimes actually pretty common even when couple are not anyhow related by blood (or maybe they are by very distantly). With some couples it looks more like if they would be a brother and sister, some kind of sick incest, even if they aren't. Would you think this kind of thing as coincidence? Maybe another person does makeups for both of them, maybe another person buys all clothes to end up having similar styles? Do you think when you watch couples that they often somehow look similar to each other?

I remember very vaguely seeing many years ago parts of some documentation from similar subject. Different people were shown images of opposite sex and they had to pick most attractive ones. Some pictures might had been edited to match target with similar facial features, but that's not so important. What matters is that conclusion to all that was, that people seemed to pick images of people they consider most attractive as those who in the end had similar facial traits to person itself.

There are probably many of those people who like to stand next to mirror, show some muscles or grab their titties and admire their own image from mirror for a moment. Do you think that in secretly somehow subconsciously we love ourselves so much that we end up seeing a mate similar to ourselves to be the most attractive partner? Do you think that maybe it's some kind of honorification towards our parents as some people might idolize somehow? Do you think that maybe we are just too afraid of unknown, thus we end up picking something safe, something familiar something bit more like.. ourselves? Are there some kind of evolutionary benefits to this kind of behaviour? Incest is usually conneted to messed-up genepools and similar traits, while more exotic genepools are considered to better bring strenghts from both sides, so this kind of behaviour/bonding shouldn't be good for evolution?...

When you see couples outside, do you think that they often look somehow similar to each other? Would you think you look similar to your boyfriend/girlfriend. Do you look similar to your favorite pornstars? Maybe it's hard to tell by yourself, but if someone else was to say? Now, let's all take a look at mirror, mirror tell me who...
